David Oku decommits from tennessee.. bye bye vols..

Just when David Oku thought it was over, it started again.

The nation's No. 1 all-purpose running back from Midwest City (Okla.) Carl Albert ended the drama and speculation about his recruitment in October by committing to the Tennessee Volunteers. Things changed, however, when the university announced on Nov. 3 that the 2008 season would be Phillip Fulmer's last as head coach.

Oku says he has kept tabs on the search and has decided to officially open his recruitment back up.

"I've been good, just about to start looking at other schools," Oku said. "I don't think Tennessee will get the right coach for me. I'm going to send tape out to 15 different schools that don't run spread. I'm just not really buying into Tennessee's coaching search."

Oku was considering offers from the likes of Clemson, Florida State, Louisville, Michigan and Nebraska prior to committing to Tennessee and has taken official visits to Tennessee, Louisville and Nebraska.

While Oku wouldn't say specifically which schools he would be looking at this time around, there is one important factor for his search going forward.

"I'm looking at (coaches') job security for my next school," Oku said. "I'm looking at schools all over, I've got two visits left."
