need some help fellow gamers

well...have a 500 gb external hard drive with over 300 gb of movies connected to my ps3 (thats like 280 movies or so)...well, the hard drive looks like it crapped out on me. It kept showing up on my xmb and then disappearing. I un-hooked it from my ps3 and took it up to my mac and plugged it in, and it doesn't show up. It sounds like its on, but it is just not showing up when plugged in.

Any way to retrieve data thats on this external hard drive???? I would appreciate anyones help who might know.

Take it apart and you can cable it over to a new one. First, however, restart your PC and see if it'll detect it. If it does, run a virus scan on the hard drive to make sure it's not a virus.
