No, and anyone who thinks he's gone too is kidding themselves. Spurrier shot down all that BS after practice today(as if he needed to do that to begin with). Just a rumor some website started because a recruit brought it up. Got way out of proportion, especially when Clemsux fans began to get ahold of it.

Spurrier not ready to retire

USC coach shoots down Internet report

Written by Joseph Person

Steve Spurrier said he’s not going anywhere.

Responding to an online report speculating that Spurrier would retire at the end of the season, the USC coach said this evening he plans to stay with the Gamecocks for several more years.

The 63-year-old Spurrier, who has four years remaining on his contract with USC, is coming off the worst loss of his coaching career – a 56-6 shellacking by Florida. But Spurrier remains hopeful he can guide the Gamecocks to their first SEC championship.

“I’ve always said I’ve got a good four to five more years in me. And we are having a pretty good recruiting class if it all comes together the way it appears to be,” he said. “So let’s give this thing four or five years and see what happens around here is the way I’m looking at it.”

Spurrier also shot down the suggestion in the report on collegefootballtalk.com that he was upset that USC officials were not receptive to making receivers coach Steve Spurrier Jr. the head coach after he leaves.

Spurrier also strongly hinted that Chris Smelley would start at quarterback against Clemson, saying he has the lead over redshirt freshman Stephen Garcia. The two have alternated each of the past two games.
