OFFICIAL FALCONS-BRONCOS IN-GAME THREAD

2,426 posts in this topic

The pundits say Falcons.

Vegas says 6 1/2 points.

I say, these games scare the pigskin out of me.

You don't have to go back too many years in Falcons history to know how important games like these are. In 2005 and 2006, the Falcons were forging an efficient playoff path, finishing the first half of the season at 6-2 and waiting on a couple of games they should definitely win. Unfortunately, things didn't work out that way. In both years the Birds fell victim to teams like Detroit, Cleveland and a Green Bay team with a freshly-minted running back named Samkon Gado (in his first professional start, the Nigerian from Liberty University put up 103 yards against the Birds in '05).

Games we should win. So far, under Coach Mike Smith, we've passed each of these tests with flying colors. But make no mistake, this is a dangerous Broncos team we play today. You can't underestimate how much better Eddie Royal has made Brandon "The Beast" Marshall - one of the NFL's elite playmakers. Jay Cutler - who has some Favrian tendencies (a tendency to throw caution to the wind, among them) - all too often looks like the legendary Jets signal-caller.

The Falcons have been nothing short of sensational at home, and a win today makes the Falcons playoff-relevant through the end of the 2008 season.

Execute, take NOTHING for granted, and don't let up. Let's ride these Broncos into the sunset.

Are you ready for some Falcons Football?

I agree with Mod on this. I'm getting my jersey and cap ready to go. I'll be headed downtown to watch the Falcons in my normal spot. Of all seasons not to be home in Atlanta...I will be flying in for the Panther's game next week. Keep the streak alive for me!!

This Holiday Season, I'm very thankful for Direct TV and sportsbars with 27 60 inch TV's!

Well Mod, we have Michael the Beast Turner and I expect him to have a huge day. We take nothing for granted and we know we need to go all out in every game. Go Falcons!

I believe that it is games like these that we aquired Micheal Turner. Against this terrible defence he should be able to tear it up. The difference between this seasons version of our beloved team, is that we have the Right coaching staff. This staff will have our team ready and prepared for this big game. A win here will set us on a path to the post-season. Go Falcons!

Elam is looking just fine - he's talking to a bunch of former teammates right now, but he's been splitting the uprights from 40, 45, 50, 55 with no problems at all.

This is a HIGHLY DANGEROUS GAME

Smitty and Co. need to keep the petal to the Metal for 4 Quarters today.

Our 3rd quarter Scoring has to get it in gear today.

We have to put this game out of reach before the 4th Quarter and

then Score again.

Denver will not hesitate to embarrass us today and we have to

take the same mentality into the game.

No more conservative Play today.

I want to see us put up 38 points before the end of the 3rd
