How bad is Keith Brooking? The numbers don't lie!

I wouldn't want a 2nd year player calling the defensive plays. ;) Maybe in a year or 2. :P

Ever hear of Patrick Willis or Jon Beason? Did it as rookies. That's not even a legitimate argument. Heck, ever hear of Lawyer Milloy and Michael Boley? Pretty darn sure they both know the defense...

Brooking needs to hang it up already

I figure you and your elementary school friends set around and think of stuff like this BUT.

Forgive me if I trust the judgment of TD and Smith over your highly uneducated opinion.

I know the dumbest of you won't understand this, but if Smith thinks Brooking isn't getting the Job done he would have replaced him.

Grimes not getting the job done replaced.

Jennings not getting the job done replaced.

Smith isn't shy about replacing people if they don't perform.

So until Smith says he 's gone STFU

Actually no, the FIRST post I ever made questioning the play of Brooking, the VERY FIRST ONE, and here you came right behind it telling someone to "crawl back in your cave Troll." And I've seen you do the same thing to a few other posters, so don't even try that garbage. You're just simply person that can't stand to be wrong and wont objectively look at a situation and consider arguments for and against the issue. You'd just rather resort to name calling. It's ok, you are what you are.

BTW - I'm sure i'm not the only person that has 2 computers in his house that can log on at the same time  Nice coicidence that Gazoo loged on at the perfect time to "refute" your claim you aren't him. I could care less, I think it's hysterical.

A Bi8t of projection. . . talk about 'can't stand to be wrong'

And your obsession withy Gazoo is truly pathetic.

Aren't you glad to know that I am apparently you?

Haters are desperate, grasping for straws.....anythng they can t spin out of having to try and actually back up their hatred.

Tom Dimitroff and Mike Smith both think Brooking was worth keeping and worth starting each week. We not only have other LBs such as Nicholas to start of Brooking sucked as bad as some here claim, we also would have been able to go find one like we did Foxworth and Jefferson.

The haters ignore the fact that if Brooking was as bad as they say, Mike Smith and TD would have to be a complete mor.ons to keep startingt him each week.

This is an iron clad case that disporves this Brooking sucks notion. If he really sucked, we all know he would be long gone by now.

Talk about dodging the question and changing the subject when the argument isn't going your way.

And your weak denial is what's pathetic. Lets see, same lame arguments, same bad typo's, same putting of words in other peoples mouth. Sorry that you think its an "obsession." Most rational people would consider it not letting someone outright lie to them and get away with it.

In that case, I could consider you to be about four different posters who all use the same bad arguments.

Still laughing at you.

I think that Keith's play is slipping, but he is not Jennins or Grimes,(Although they also cut Algae, who was loved but not like Brooking) if you replace him, you better have someone who is clearly better than him and I don't think they do. That says a lot about the state of our W/S LBs.

Trust me his replacement will not be hard to find

This is the problem with the haters......they never look at the whole picture. They hold Brooking to an entirely different standard than they do any other players. Any mistake by Brooking yields hundreds of posts slamming him, and any mistake by Boley, Lofton, Abraham or Milloy is ignored by them.

No sorry, your wrong again. When the other players make mistakes we do say something, we do not ignore it. Many pointed out how Boley nudged Deuce and didn't wrap him on the screen pass. That is unacceptable and he could have easily made the tackle. When Abraham struggled to get a pass rush going against Carolina, we did complain. It was a big game in which he needed to step up and he didn't, despite the Panthers playing with their 2nd string OT's. When Grimes struggled vs bigger, more physical receivers people spoke out, same when Chris Houston was getting beat. It is no different with Brooking, their is no "double standard"

and like a shorter toothed LB that struggles getting blocked out of strong side runs? (ala Michael Boley)?

I frankly think Boley and Milloy have been average this year. Milloy has been weak in pass coverage.

All that said, lets leave Abraham out of the conversation. He's made more game changing plays (3rd down sacks, forced fumbles, etc) and had a greater impact on games with his pressure on the QB in just this season than Brooking has had in the last 3 years. Sure he'll miss a tackle on a run play b/c he's rushing the passer, but he's been significantly more impactful on the game than any other defensive player on the roster.

lets see how people try to spin this........Brook is way past his prime man,he provides veteran leadership, but thats about it.Id rather have Nicholas out there honestly

Brook's contract finishes this season, I think we draft younger and Brook may not be back next year. Stop complaining and let the man play out his contract.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Brooking;s contract is voidable only by him, not by the team. So he'd have to void his contract that will pay him roughly $8.8 mill next year. We'll see how it plays out, TD will make the best move for the team either way.

All contracts are "voidable" by the team. Its called cutting the player.

You're right, he's a waste of $7.7 million dollars this year and $8.8 million next year too. Thanks for bringing this up!

He's gone! I guarantee that TD is noticing that Brooking gets beat all the time, and with that salary, he's as good as gone next year. If I were game planning offensively against the Falcons, my tight end would definitely be a big part of the plan. Every time a TE catches one, Brooking is way behind the play. And I'm not hating on the guy, just stating the obvious.
