Stankyfoot
No linky, but in the "NFL Report" section of today's print version of the Atlanta Journal and Constitution:"Gregg Knapp was stripped of his play-callling responsibility last week and was told that he won't be used in that capacity for the rest of the season."I always detested his play calling here in Atlanta. Every defense in the league knew that if we threw incomplete on first down, it was going to be Dunn up the middle for no gain on second. That forced Vick into third and long about 27,384 times. My wife thought his real name was "Greg F**king Knapp" as many times as she heard me scream it at the TV.
mcwheesus
come on, give credit where credit is due, it wasn't Dunn up the middle for no gain. It was Dunn up the middle for 1 yard
zinupe14
if you get stripped of playcalling in Oakland ... what does that tell you about Knapp??? I told you it wasn't all Vick. Put him in an offensive with a creative coordinator ... like Mularkey ... then you'll see him thrive. I wish him the best.
srichter23
that guy was and still is a freakin' clownonly in oakland lol
clownorg
Well we ALL Knew he would have no success in Oakland. For Christs sakes Nintendo's old Techmo Bowl had a more intensive Playbook than Knapp
Magic Man
Being a failure in Oakland, is monumental. Maybe there is some college team glutting for punishment, but I fear Knapp's NFL life may be on life support.
PensacolaFalcon
Who in their right mind would let Knapp call plays .... Oh yea Oakland ... Speaking of the Raiders think we can talk crazy AL in to giving us a 3rd and a 5th for Adam Jennings?
FalconFanForLife
Well sorry to for Gnapp's misfortune, but this does vindicate what all of us already knew about his play calling inabilities.I was shocked when Oakland hired him, but now we realize the extent of the mismanagement in Oakland. Stankyfoot
I seem to remember a rumor that Mora Jr. was going to be able to keep his job if he would get new coordinators, but he refused. Probably just a rumor, but sure would have been dumb to lose your job over loyalty to Knapp and Ed Zone-atell.
deja entendu
Just goes to show Oaklands incompetence that it took them this long to realise the run and punt offense that knapp runs is just awful, the only thing worse would be some sort of west coast/option hybrid......oh wait that last one sounds familiar aswel
Tandy
WOW - Do you think Al is reading our board?

SaintsH8
Knapp was a joke, our offensive play calling was horrible. Mora was way to loyal, which led to him getting fired.

Put him in an offensive with a creative coordinator ... like Mularkey ... then you'll see him thrive. I wish him the best.I've always said that I perferred D.Reeves system over the other. Remember when MV had thrown 150+ passes without an int? Remember MVs first full season, he threw for 2900+ and ran for about 700+.

KeearrATL
Al Davis needs to be replaced; the guy's losing it. Ever since I heard the voice recording of him having to be informed of the name of the interim coach after the Kiffin firing moments before the press conference, I thought it was quite evident that the dude shouldn't be calling shots for a professional sports team. Not to mention the obvious joke of a franchise he's put together the past few years.
