if u have a 8 or 16 man playoff system it wouldnt be fair to the people in the rankings from 25-17.....so what are we going to do about those? make an naia playoff bracket like in basketball?

Sure it would be fair. The #16 is never going to win just like the #64 team never wins in basketball. Plus you wouldn't be able to argue with the last man standing.

I don't like that argument and this is why. Is it fair that a 9-7 winner of a weak NFC West conference goes to the playoffs over a 10-6 team from a more powerful conference? Is it fair that Pittsburg will go to a BCS game over the third best team in the Big XII?

There are MAYBE 10-12 "sure thing" programs in this country. And I honestly don't think that their is much difference in the 13th best team in the polls and the 23rd best team in the polls.

But unfortunately college football has inelastic demand. You and I and thousands of other Americans will continue to consume this product and spend millons of dollars while we hash and rehash it to death in every public forum from the airwaves to cyberspace. And thats all the powers that be give a crap about.... It's certainly not the integrity of the competition.... So i'm afraid the BCS is here to stay and I have to worry about Tech beating OSU Saturday instead of getting to enjoy and OU route of Texas A&M. /rant

There is no system that will make everyone happy, if you take the top 12 or 14 teams team like Boise and Utah will get in over 2 loss UGA and Ohio State and everyone will complain about that. A 2 loss UGA and Ohio State is better than an undefeated Boise and Utah. Someone's team is going to get screwed and they are going to complain and hate the system period.

That's a perfect example of the kind of teams that would get left out. But we also know those teams don't deserve to play for a title so it really shouldn't matter. If we go to an 8 or 12 team playoff, I have faith in the regular season to sort out the top 8-12 teams pretty fairly before the postseason starts. Sure, people may complain, but people complain about weak division champions in the nfl getting in over stronger wildcard type teams. Just the nature of sports.

12 teams would leave out 2 loss teams and put in the Hawaii's, Boise and Utah? You agree with that?:huh:

season's not over with yet. let's see where they end up. but if those type schools go undefeated, then absolutely, they deserve their shot. 2 loss teams just blew it. last year was an anomaly that I don't think we'll see again in a very long time, and the UGAs and Ohio States of the nation have proven that they are definitely not on par with the top teams. Give the other teams a shot at it.

No, I just think the Pac 10 and Big 10 can take their Rose Bowl circle jerking commissioners and STHU when it comes to "getting screwed" by the BCS.

No soup for you if your conference is the reason a playoff system is not in place.

I'm not disagreeing, I want a playoff, everyone in the conferences want a playoff.

We just gotta figure it all out..
