capologist
If you've read the recent Jeff Schultz column: http://www.ajc.com/blogs/content/shared-bl...lity_check.htmlThen you've seen some pretty wild comments from UGA players. Here's the quotes:“The game was closer than what the scoreboard said,” Moreno said.“The score didn’t at all reflect how the game was played,” Mohamed Massaquoi said.“I thought we were better team this game — just a few turnovers held us back,” Curran said. The better team?“Definitely.”Really, these are just way out there IMO.... AF89
I thought Georgia shot themselves in the foot (which deluded the score) but Florida was clearly the better team.
rohan_mehta86
Did you really expect to say that they were outplayed and outcoached? You'd expect that from pro players, not student-athletes. However, those remarks seem slightly out there, keep it in perspective. They were probably disappointed and didnt think it through before speaking. dan9124
I think it might be attributed to coaches trying to instill confidence in them after this game....maybe they said that stuff after listening to them. Lord knows they need confidence, cause we got absolutely destroyed on Saturday, no other way to look at it. UF was clearly the better team but whatever the coaches have to say to these guys to keep them playing strong, I'm all for.
Remarkable
Florida is clearly a better team, but no way are they 39 points better. I know the Florida homers and Georgia haters will respond with "scoreboard," but deep down you guys know it's true. Only a fool would say those terrible calls didn't make the score much more lopsided. Georgia also made several unforced errors, but part of being a good team is not making those damaging mistakes. Can't really harp on those. And would you want your player ever admitting another team is better? I could understand if you were a Tennessee fan or something and just about every team is better than you, but even with the horrible losses Georgia is looking at a top 10 finish. augfalcon77
the game was close till the 3rd qtr. after that, it was not closer than what the scoreboard showed. That was an epic dawg beat down.

Sounds like you want UGA fans to bow down and agree with you. And if they don't then you and others will attack their opinion, while rubbing the game in more. You don't have the slightest clue as to who I am and certainly do not know me well enough to make such a proclamation.2. If I didn't want the question honestly answered, I wouldn't have asked it.3. If you've actually paid attention to my activities after rivalry games, I don't continuously rub it in. Never have, never will. We've won this matchup more than enough recently that it's just not warranted to do so.With that said, if you don't want to answer the question then don't, that's entirely up to you but I really wish you and the other UGA fan that continues to try and play mind-reading psychologist would simply take comments at face value instead of reading some warped motive into it... sirlot
Dude, this thread is rubbing it in. This could has easily turned into a firesale. I agree with some of the comments made but not all. They are college kids who just played a very emotional game. They made some comments based off that emotion. I don't think it was meant for disrespect towards the Gators. Take your own advice. Take these player comments at face value and don't read into it.
slamee101
Just become a Florida fan already. Why would I ever do that? I mean, I think after that performance it's ok to be pretty disappointed in their effort. Reality: Florida was the better team. We outgained them on offense and they didn't do anything special...but in addition to bad breaks and blown calls...we performed HORRIBLY! After a loss like that, to have the attitude like, you played better than the 49-10 showing kind of says something to me. I know they feel like the game got away from them and they weren't just all out dominated (It was only 14-3 at half...and that probably should have been 14-9) but I do feel like they shouldn't be walking away thinking that they played a decent game...they didn't. Like a podcast I listened too, you don't want to go overboard and call for firings, etc. b/c we'll probably win 10 games...but it's becoming the norm for us to have at least 1 or 2 games like this a season and Georgia will never be where everyone hopes they'll be if they just have the "it wasn't THAT bad" type of attitude. If it bothers you that I feel that way I apologize. I don't think it was meant for disrespect towards the Gators. Take your own advice. Take these player comments at face value and don't read into it.How is this thread rubbing it in? It's a simple question about an article written by Jeff Schultz. I found the quotes out in left field and really wondered what UGA fans' take would be on it. Do they agree with the writer that these players were out there too?Not a matter of respect or disrespect for the Gators. The question has nothing to do with the Gators nor should the answer be Gator-related. This is all about the players comments and the fans reaction, nothing else.Taking their comments at face value is exactly what's being done. How do you walk away from a 49-10 loss and say something like the game was closer than the score indicates or that you were the better team? No interpretation necessary to realize that's just way out there.I'd honestly be a bit miffed by that if Tebow, Harvin, etc. were to say that if we ever got blown out like that. I'm disgusted with the way our team has played in our two losses, but they're still my team and I'm not going to go above and beyond to rag on them. Things could be a lot worse. We're likely going to finish in the top 10 with a decent bowl, that's a position about 109 teams would love to be in. But sorry for my post.
