I've never hated the saints as much as I have hated the panthers. I absolutely despise the panthers and their fans. But after watching the saints board and their fans this year, my dislike of them has gone up a few notches. Every time I go there, I see them saying they are just going to roll over us like we aren't even here and i'm sick of it. I want us to beat them as badly as I wanted to beat the pussycats a few weeks ago. They need to be taught a little respect at the hands of our falcons, who have proven every single so called expert wrong this year...every single one. I want this one badly. The one thing I worry about though is of course their passing attack, where the falcons have given up huge numbers this year. If we can somehow contain brees and their passing offense, we will win this game. I hope we see a lot of blitzes..I don't think we blitz enough and we need to shake up breez from the opening snap.

Saints are the bottom of the division but if you read their boards, they think they are the uncrowned champions with predictions of going 11 and 5. Good god I hope we kill them.

My feeling of the saints is its a heated rivalry, that at its root is based out of respect. We are brothers in struggle. For pure unadulterated hate I'd have to point to the bucs.

Spoken like true NOOB fan.

Anyone out of their teens that has followed the Falcons know that the 'aints are the only ones truely deserving the hate.

Untrue.

How can you hate the village idiot?

The Rams and the 9ers will always have the blackest hate in my heart.

The Saints are like that ******** kid brother that will never learn how to read but every once in a while zings you with a nut shot.

True kinda - but the Rams and 9ers are no longer our division rivals.

We have a longer history with the Saints than any other Division Rival

HEY KIDS _

Did you know

We played and lost our first game against the Saints in 1967, which was their first year as a team. I remember because it was the year after our first year.

We went into the NFC West Division and have been Division Rivals with the Saints since 1970. That's 38 years, young fans.

By comparison - the Carolina Panthers became a team - and we played them their very first NFL game - AND BEAT THEM, BTW, in 1995. We have been Division Rivals with the Panthers since then. That's 13 years of rivalry.

When they created the NFC South in 2001 - we, along with the Saints and Panthers (and Rams) all went together as rivals.

Our shortest running rivalry in this Division - the Tampa Bay Buccaneers - were started in 1976, and although we played them occasionally, we did not become rivals until they joined the NFC South in 2002. That's 7 years.

Just a little history trivia to help you join the rivalry!

Ever since I was a young kid, I have hated the Saints. I remember the 2-12 seasons where the only high point of the season was beating the Aints. I hate when New Orleans fans flood the dome on game day. I hate their "Who-dat" and "Cha-ching". I just can stand anything having to do with the Saints. Period.

I am Superfan, and I approve this message. B)

I remember when we use to get spanked by the rams... I still hate them

Easy with the friendly fire there. I was merely suggesting that the old age of the rivalry, coupled with both of our losing histories makes it a different situation. There is a level of respect that comes with the history though.

Feel free to go back to throwing around insults, cool guy.

Don't get me wrong.

They are my two favorite games of the year.

I love the rivalry.

I just have never felt any hate for the Saints.

All the years we were bad, they were worse.

Poor bagheads.

And then when they do FINALLY win their division in 91, their magical 11-5 year and their first ever division title, we beat them in the wildcard round.

They are one of the few teams in the NFL that have as rough a history as we do.

 I still remember when the AJC gave out "Go Saints" placards at the home game..... Anyone remember that?

That was a great day. I think I still have my "GO Saints" placard in a box somewhere. Falcons fans were so Poed.

I love this game and coming to the GA DOME. I love it when we are winning and the falcons fans start piling out and we

thank you for coming and wish you a safe trip home LOL. God I hope we win this sunday.

This is true - which is probably why I hate the Panties more - but the kinship hatred with the Saints goes deeper - more history.

Now, I hate them because they used to be the worst - we always had them to look at when we felt bad about our own troubles. Of course, I hate the Bucs because they only sucked before they were our rivals - so I could never have that pleasure with them.

So, I'm really mad at the Saints. How dare they improve! Seriously - some of my best fights have been with Saints fans. We were too close in proximity - too easy to torture each other at the games, ya know?

Love the room...that's awesome!! I've followed the Falcons my whole life, got pics of me and my folks on the hill at F.B. as a child and I can honestly tell you that I HATE THE 'AINTS!!! They're by far the team I despise the most in the NFL followed by the rest of the division (Bucs then Panthers).

I love the saints. The rivalry is like nothing else. If they're was just one team I'd want to watch my Falcons play for the rest of time it would be Falcons/Saints. I was a little worried a couple years back when thier was talk of moving them to L.A or San Antonio but thankfully cause of that magical season thier here to stay.

that said I hop the Falcons blow thier doors off next sunday. Go Falcons

History lesson or no history lesson (not that I learned anything I didn't already know, and yeah, I'm a "newer fan" if a dozen yrs is still "new").................. I still hate the Bucs more. Sorry. Just the way it is. <_<

I wasn't knocking who you hate more - just threw the history lesson out there for the younger fans who don't know. I hate the Panties more. I despise John Fox more than any individual in football and I can't stand the fans when you go there. I've met some decent fans who come to our stadium - but I can't stand the ones in their stadium. I finally quit going over there to avoid a fight. I'm not the one who knocked you on who you hated most - the Sux are certainly deserving of your hatred.
