If you go by the QB Rating this was Matt's best game. He posted a 138.4 QB Rating in this game. He also had a career best 77.3 completion percentage today.

Here is Matt's update season stats.

Through 8 games - 133 of 227 (58.6%), 1,661 Yards, 9 TD, 5 INT - 85.4 QB Rating

Guys doesn't it feel good to finally have a real QB. A QB who is not only good but makes the other players around him good. B)

2004 Ben Roethlisberger 14 games - 196 of 295 (66.4%), 2,621 Yards, 17 TD, 11 INT - 98.1 QB Rating

the main difference between these two rookiie years is that Big Ben had a much better and seasoned team around him. mularkey may have already been gone, but pittsburgh still called pretty much the same offense. they protected big ben and ran the ball very well. i can only wonder that if greg knapp was still our OC, how screwed up would Ryan be already lol.

Yes Murlarky was the HC in Buffalo in 2004.

Wow. A 89.9 QB rating and a 2/1 touchdown to interception ratio for a rookie is FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC .

Minus that one nine pass stretch at the beginning of Tampa its ben something like a 96 QBR, 11/3 ration, and over sixty percent completion.

(Again, I still think the QBR is a vastyl overrated stat)

I would care to hear how QBR is overrated?

I mean it takes all the passing stats and puts them into 1 stat. I just don't understand how that is overrated.

I mean seriously. I know Vick was a runner first but just think about how low a total 3000 passing yards is. Its really not that great of an accomplishment in a 16 game schedule. But ten YEARS? Technically its 11 seasons since Chandler was the 97/98 season and this is the 08/09 season. An entire decade of extremely minimal production from the passing game. Unreal.

Actually it was the 98/99 season that Chandler did it (our SB year).

But you are right in the fact. That only averages out to 188 yards a game. How many QBs average 188 yards a half?
