twyntefour
i have noticed a trend especially this year in sports where the games are no longer decided by players. games are now decided by referees and league officials. people can say "one play/call doesnt win or lose the game" that is the biggest line of BS ive ever heard. a bad call such as the one in our game or the one in the san diego game with jay cutler changes the game just as much as a 60 yard TD pass in OT would change the game. ONE PLAY CAN WIN OR LOSE THE GAME! granted we need to play better to secure the game but when the game is in your grasp and the refs take your opportunity away to even have a chance to win the game... thats just not right. we could have played a perfect hard fought game with no mistakes and if the refs cant call the game right none of it means anything. that was the worst officiated game ive ever seen. blown pass interferance calls. a no call on a safety that was very clear. and a bad call by a ref on a punt return. that changes a game.now in the world series we have a league official taking over a game calling it suspended only after the game gets tied up. its just unreal to me how we lost what sports is about and now its just a bunch of storyline drama directed by officials. Hammafan58
Refs have been making bad calls since the game was invented. It's nothing new. We just see it alot more because of ESPN, FOXSPORTS, NFL Network, etc.
twyntefour
there is a big difference between a bad call and a game deciding blown call such as the cutler call and the call in our game. the rules on replay are dumb to begin with. there didnt need to even be a review to wait two seconds before making a call and see it on the big screen. Brewcrew
You may be able to see it better now with HD, slow motion and cameras from every angle, but the refs aren't any worse than they have always been. I can think of several games off the top of my head that were decided by a bad call. The first one that comes to mind the UGA v Ga Tech game, I think it was in 2000. The game was tied with a few seconds left and Jasper Sanks ran the ball to set up the field goal inside the 5. The refs said he fumbled the ball but watching the reply he was CLEARLY down. No question. Tech got the ball back anyways and went on to win in overtime. That was before reply which, to some extent, helped the situation. (can't remember the year) If that was not a game changer, I don't know what was.

michaelgee
why do bad calls only matter to the team that got shorted, nobody is compalining when you get a break. That is just part of Football, it just happens to be the side that tastes really bad.fwiw, we are way past the 24 Hour Rule deadline, stop crying about last week and focus on the Raiders.
