Dem Birds
I really believe Matt Ryan was going to take the team down thefield with the help of Roddy and we were going to win this game, at the very least, pull ahead for the moment. I know several players believed that, including Tyson Clabo who said "I was just worried we were going to score too quick" How many others feel the same way?Note: I know it doesn't make a difference at this point, I'm just curious who had faith in the team and Matt Ryan. SLICK NICK
No doubt in my mind that Roddy gets third TD if "the call" doesn't happen.
Dem Birds
Sucks though, we should have already been ahead in that game, 2 yard line, you can't throw picks. Bad throw but just a bad decision to throw it, as I'm sure everyone has already said. If anything, line up Snelling, Turner and Ovie. (Snelling also made a few good plays today, on offense and special teams. We need to find a way to get him the ball more as well. I know, it's impossible lol.) erica_bender
Yes, I believe Matt Ryan would have made it happen.
AutoMax
I expected a TD and a win. The new Falcons had pretty much convinced me to never rule them out. But, I wasn't even considering the "awesome" abilities of Jennings when I was in that frame of mind.
bigFLIP10
I thought it was gonna happen. I went from elation to anger in 4 seconds.
Magic Man
I had no doubt that Ryan was gonna pull it off, and start his resume to eventually challenge Elway's 4th Qtr comebacks record...
Che
I think what is most important is that the team had high confidence that we were going to score and win. When you listen or watch post game interviews, you can feel the confidence the players have about the team.....I love it
mc
Jennings did nothing wrong.the refs missed the call badly.if Jennings makes the catch and is hit immediately and fumbles then that would have been his fault. The refs have to be 100% sure in those situations. They were not. the flag was slow to come out and they had to huddle.
Tandy
I believed it truly. I told my husband afterwards, before this year - I would have given up on the game at half time - at least inside - but outside I would have been cheering. This is how I know this is a different team. I really, honestly, truly believed we were going to come back and score - just like I did at the Bears game. I don't know why - but this team gives me that confidence. Maybe it's the confidence they have in each other - or just the overall no quit attitude - but I believe in this team - and it feels amazing. The loss hurt - more because it was a crap call that never gave us the chance to find out. If the call had gone the other way and we didn't score - it would be easier to take - although painful. Never knowing when you believe so strongly it would have happened is what hurts - not being given the fair chance to try - that's what hurts. But, I'm past it - I'm looking on to Oakland - it's the only thing we can do - because we can't change the call. Theyhateme : )
We would've scored...no doubt.... -_-
Statick
I really believe we would have scored. We had the momentum after stopping the Eagles and would have had great field position if Jennings (grrrrrrrrrr...) would have just called a fair catch on that punt.I don't mind losing a game if we were outmatched, but to lose a game like this with the refs just giving the ball to the Iggles just grates on me. falconfanjason
I think we could have scored. Ryan was getting hot and was starting to pick the Eagles apart with the pass. Its all about momentum and the Falcons had it until the horrible call on the punt.
TheEndzoneAnalyst
Matt had just drove the team down and scored on them. It was obvious that their D was on their heels on our last drive. I hope this loss is enough for Smitty & Co. to realize that Jennings is a huge liability at PR. He should have never even been close to that kick if he didn't know for a fact that he could have fielded it cleanly.
michael garvin
ryan would have most likely pulled it off. Remember why he was picked so high. Its his intangibles and 4th quarter heroics
bossFALCON™
i knew matt was going to take us down to score. i just knew it inside. he reminds me of brady because the team can play like crap for 58 minutes, but when they need points its like something clicks in them and all of a sudden they start playing like superman. he did it in college and against the bears. i just knew he was going to do it again. the eagles had really lost momentum at that point in the game. we stopped their offense that we couldnt stop almost all day.matt would've got it done. the guy was in the zone. SMH. There was no doubt in my mind that we was going to win that game...that's what pissed me off the most about that call. mozzie71
in my heart of hearts i knew Matt was gonna lead us back for another late win... and i AM having trouble letting go of this zebra BLUNDER.
Tootie Quivers
I would give ourselves a 25% chance to win the game if the call was made correctly.Even if we did score, there could be enough time for Philly to have done something as well. 25% isn't much, but we had NO CHANCE with that horrible call. McMVP
I wonder what the results would be on the Eagles board?
Atlsport
Based on field pos, I'd say a FG was likely, but not so sure about a TD.
bossFALCON™
I wonder what the results would be on the Eagles board?probably something different, but then again they havent been watching matt ryan like we have.i think it would've been a tougher drive, but ryan would have gotten it done. Durrty
That's just going to drive you insane. Let go of the things you can't change. It's hard, but it sure beats ulcers.Yea...what I just realized is that this game isn't as important as we all were making it. True enough, we had an opportunity stripped away from us and that's more than enough reason to be pissed. But, IMO, there's a certain division opponent that we will face in two weeks at home (we're 0-2) and that game is extremely vital to our shot at the playoffs. So, compared to that, the bad call really doesn't even matter anymore...besides, the players are over it.
