Grrrillapmpn Inc.®
Ummm....just in case you guys were unaware or forgot (as everyone does sometime) We are paying a guy Name Ovie A LOT of money to punch holes through D-lines. His talents are especially useful in goal line situations, you know, like 2nd and goal from the 1 yard line for example.Just a heads up. doubletrouble21
I was furious at that fade. Should've punched it straight through.
{=Mojo-Risin=}
but why? It's so cute to to ignore the money at fb and rb to do gimmicky formations and throw from the 1.

{=Mojo-Risin=}
Here's what I don't understand. If you are determined to run OUT of your own endzone, why won't you run into the other for a TD?
ltstorm1
WTF came out of my mouth even before the ball was picked off. Yeah a TD from a fade route would have been nice, but psychologically ramming the ball down their throat would have been much nicer.
stripedss
I too asked.....Why are we not running the ball?. I would have rather thety run it 4 straight times, and if the eagles stopped them, then oh well, good defensive stand.

Tetsujin-28
Mularky didn't do us any favors with that Knapp-like playcalling.
Voice of Reason
Geez people! A fade isn't "gimmicky" or "cute" play calling. A fade in the corner is a rather high percentage play. Anytime a play doens't work, we can always second guess the call. "What about that stupid call for Ryan to throw into triple coverage to White...Oh wait a minute, it worked for a touchdown. Nevermind!" Quit with the assinine coach bashing. If our players had executed it, no one would have a problem. I was a pi$$-poor throw by Ryan, that's all it was. Just wasnt our day...Let's think about where we are, and the direction we are heading in. Yea Im p ssed too, but did anyone think we'd be 4-3 at this point. I am behind our players 100%. They showed no quit, and were in position to win the game minus a bad call by the ref.
{=Mojo-Risin=}
Yeah, let's pass from the 1 instead of running it with our highly paid fb and rb. It worked so well for Knapp when he was here. Let's just keep doing it. It was a case of trying to get cute when you are a run first team. And sitting Ryan for those plays where Norwood took the snaps is a gimmick. Voice of Reason
Usually when a fade is used it is used with a tall receiver. You do realize that Roddy is a tall receiver, right? Besides, exchange the receiver on that play with Jenkins or Finneran and it is still an INT because the throw was horrible. It was low and underthrown. Like I said, just a bad throw (a poorly executed play) that is all it was.

The touchdown pass through double coverage was poor judgement gone right in our favor. Y. A. Tittle would crap his pants even thinking about that pass. How about let's not be predictable in any situation? That was what Knapp was, predictable. And I agree that the direct snap to Norwood is gimmick, but that isn't even relevant to this conversation. We're talking about the goalline play.

Knapp wasn't a good name to bring up in that situation because he did the exact same thing and it ended the exact same way.
Josh Affonso
It not only baffled me that we threw that fade pass from the one...but the fact that we threw it to Roddy and not Jenkins just amazes me.I think that there is a good chance that Jenks could have caught that pass.
