hornsmd
I saw it in HD on a 65" TV and it still looked like a muff w/o re-play. All the refs are standing in one spot looking at the same things. They are spread around the field looking at assigned things that they are supposed top be looking at. I'm sure you really knew that though. If all the refs. were standing in 5 different angles to view one play and they still got it wrong then OK but I would be blocking everyone in the back because no one would be watching. Don't get me wrong, I'm as hurt as anyone over the way it went down in the end but there was quite a few things that cost us this game. We just have to re-group and go beat Oak. By the way, Hall is going to get torched.I watched it on a 32" TV and could tell live that he got out of the way of it. Fact is that the guys blew the call and get paid to see things better than we can. They blew the call and were not sure what to call. They should of had an official review on the play. That play cost us a chance to win the game. Plain and simple. We overcame all of our mistakes and the bad call on Milloy (was not helmet to helmet hit) and deserved out shot at the end of the game. They huddled and discussed. They needed to rewatch the play.

kschreck
different situation tho dude, chicago losing had nothing to do with bad calls. this game is a win with an asterisk next to it, seriously.i dont feel sick, i feel like we got cheatedIf we would have just fan the ball on second and goal at the one, we wouldn't be having this conversation. I told my wife, that's one of those calls that even if we would have scored I would have said, "It may have worked this time, but that was a bad call." Instead I'm left saying, "What was he thinking?" Rookie QB, tough CBs, on the road with three downs to gain a yard. No reason to throw on 2nd and 1.And please abandon all forms of plays that even have the appearance of a reverse. Disciplined defenses don't normally get burned by them. Especially when they're fast also.
Quicksand
It was a bad call, but it isn't all the refs fault at all. Ryan could have not thrown a INT in the endzone earlier in the game, or, even if the Falcons got the ball back, it IS POSSIBLE (I know all you guys think you would have 100% scored a touchdown), that the Falcons could have not got the go-ahead score on that drive. I know it sucks because it was a bad call and didn't give the offense another chance, but the offense did have a chance earlier, and the chance they should have gotten may not have even mattered if they did not score. Lets not blame this all on the refs. Please. It's not the refs fault at all? So a ref calling a muffed punt which gives the other team the ball when it DIDN'T HAPPEN which gives away the Falcons a chance to win the game ISN'T THE REFS FAULT?ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?! Quicksand
Now I know how the Bears feel after our win...SICk :wacko:Except the Bears have absolutely no excuse, the correct play clock isn't the one you see on your TV. Which is besides the point since the Falcons still won even if you go by the clock displayed on the TV.
FalconFanForLife
Well the refs blew the call, but the game is not decided by one play or one call.We lost the game because we did not execute well enough to win - period.
Fanboy3000
I thought it hit him - the way it bounced straight up I thought for sure it hit himThat's probably what the refs thought too, and that's what ticks me off. Don't call it unless you are **** sure you actually saw the ball bounce off, not because you assume that by bouncing straight up it touched him. The players' body language was enough to doubt that it touched Jennings. Jennings made a bonehead play on the ball. There is nothing good that can come out of charging the ball and backing off at the last second. But despite that, despite the 2 int and letting Westbrook run all over them, the team put themselves in position to win the game. They gave themselves a chance and the refs took it away.We always talk about players and coaches knowing game situations. Well the refs need to as well. In that situation, you cannot make a call unless you are completely positive.
Quicksand
Well the refs blew the call, but the game is not decided by one play or one call.We lost the game because we did not execute well enough to win - period. That's where you're wrong. We most certainly did execute well enough to win, which is what irks me so badly. After all the HUGE mistakes we made we came together at the end, got our heads together, made an amazing goal line stop, made a fantastic TD drive THEN force the Eagles three and out by stopping the run when our run defense was suspect all day long. Then the refs throw the game down the toilet by making a non-existent call which gives the ball to the Eagles when the ball CLEARLY should have been given to the Falcons. This is absolutely inexcusable and the officiating crew needs to be fired. cyofish
I would say Atlanta had enough opportunities to win the game. They just didn't execute when they needed too. There were a couple of drops that hurt. Pass play on the 1 yard line was a missed opportunity. Bomb to Roddy in the 1st half should have been a catch but Roddy bobbled it enough for the defender to stick his hands in to make the play. Had he caught it clean, it would have been a long gianer or a TD. Fiinneran's drop ledt to more time running off the clock before Falcons scored. psuedo-muffed punt was a bad play on Jennings part. Defense collapsed in the 2nd half as they failed to stop the running game. Opportunities were there. Falcons just didn't play a solid of a game as they did the first 6 games. beatzfreak
It looked like a muff to all of them including us. If it happened the other way around you would see it more clearly. It does suck but it is what it is. We have to just win next week. Imagine how Chicago felt last week. With the time issues and all. We still kicked their butt but I understand their complaint.Who is "us"? Didn't look like a muff to me either, maybe you should switch tv brands. "I can count the blades of grass"...sounds like a commercial.
