Quicksand
This is about throwing the ball on the one yard line. This isn't about two interceptions Ryan threw. This isn't about our defense collapsing midway through the game. This isn't about Jennings indecision to field the punt.Games in the NFL are decided by two things, who makes the least mistakes, and who overcomes them. The Falcons made their share of mistakes today but they overcame all of them and then overcame all the odds by holding the Eagles near the 1 yard line three straight times to force a field goal, to driving the field and converting 4th and 3rd downs to zip it in for a touchdown, and THEN forcing a 3 and out by the Eagles to get the ball back to drive for the winning touchdown.THENTHE REFS CALL A NONEXISTENT MUFF SO THEY CAN THROW THE GAME AND GIVE IT TO THE EAGLES, THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE TRAVESTY AND DECISIVE ACTION NEEDS TO BE TAKEN AGAINST THIS OFFICIATING CREW IMMEDIATELY!!!! Happy Mondays
I can't remember being this mad with a game, I had no doubt in my mind Ryan was going to march us down and score but no no no the ****ing refs can't allow that.
Atlanta Sports Fan
i have every right to believe Matt Ryan could of went the distance for the touchdown ... i had no doubt in my mind
FalconFan13
In live play that ball did look like a muff. Im pretty sure most people thought it was when jennings ran up like that and was inches from it. Anyone that thinks they could have made a better call is full of themselves. Within 1 second you can tell if a ball is touching someones fingertips within inches. It's simple Jennings stays his punk *** 5 yrds away from it and this isn't a discussion. He runs under it and catches it cleanly and this isn't a discussion.

i RaWK uR WorLD
Another angry kid that refuses to see the reality of it all...Atlanta - 1 bad callPhilly - At least 3 bad calls...enjoy that?Good...
{=Mojo-Risin=}
The people blaming Smith are officially stupid. That's all.You don't let 30 seconds run off of the clock when you will be working the sidelines anyway!!

But this wasn't a bad call, IT WAS A NON-EXISTENT ONE!!! Why not call an incomplete pass a touchdown? It would have as much bearing as calling a muff that DIDN'T TOUCH JENNINGS. Shaud
Jennings should of caught the ball. End of the story. Why in the **** would you let the ball bounce back in that situation? You are not inside the 20.Horrible callHorrible decision by Jennings.

Ghost Rider
They missed the call but they didn't throw the game. Every time I look at it in real speed, it looks like his hands hit it. Every time. I thought he hit it when it was live. WE ALL DID. Admit it. We all thought that screw up muffed the punt. If we had a T.O. or if it was under 2 min. then we would have had the ball but the ref.'s called what we all thought happened. You can't tell me that when it happened you thought he didn't touch it. We can blame the ref.'s but Jennings should not have fielded it if he couldn't catch it cleanly.

Jennings miss timed the catch, and when he realized it tried to back off (and did) to avoid fumbling the catch. It was a heads up move on his part. The refs completley blew the call on the play and cost the falcons a chance to win the game. Anyone saying it was Jennings fault or to move on from the bad call needs to ask themselves one question. How come, if Jennings touched the ball, did the eagles not get the score on the recovery and explain why they were giving the ball at the spot of "the touch"? Bill Brasky
If the receiving team touches the ball, it becomes a live ball and the kicking team can advance it all the way to wherever they see fit.
Shaud
Yes it can, it's a live ball.No it can't, it can only be returned if the punt returner takes steps and then fumbles it.
