pick-ups
Considering what the Bucs did to Ryan then its not out of the realm to expext any difference in Philly.Dont let it get to you cuz its just an opinion that he`s paid to give. Tampa did not blitz much against us. Plus, it was Ryan's first road game... you gotta give him slack. He'll be ready this Sunday.

pick-ups
Because that game was at the Georgia dome and the Bears were w/o their best CB while the Eagles secondary is one of the best if not the best in the league. The Bears and Bucs offenses are`nt as good as the Eagles offense now that their healthy(finally). ucityfalcon
Look, let's be honest. The play of our team thus far has been a bonus. After last season, all I wanted to see was an exodus from a culture of losing to winning and having a competive team week in and week out. We have good coaches, a good GM finally, and a QB. I'm looking toward next season. If we go 8-8 this year, that'll be icing on the cake.
obmann
Pat Kirwan is only a idiot........He is one of the worst experts. Kornheiser is even funny....But Kirwan?Boring. With no knowledge.....The protection was not so bad against Tampa Bay. It was the coverage schemes, which gave Ryan more trouble.

I didn't hear his comments - but I would guess he didn't make them in the context of calling Ryan a 'wus'.Ryan will have his hands full - I think the world of him as a young QB - we'll see what happens. With no knowledge.....The protection was not so bad against Tampa Bay. It was the coverage schemes, which gave Ryan more trouble.Kirwan has been very complementary of Ryan this year and has expressed his admiration for how well he has done as a rookie many times. He is not an idiot--he was the personnel director for the NY Jets as well as an assistant defensive coach. Also worked in the scouting dept. for Arizona, and I think Tampa Bay. You may think he is boring (I don't), but he has more football knowledge than you will ever have (I reserve the right to apologize to you if you can provide better credentials for yourself than Kirwan). And the revelation that you think Kornheiser is funny pretty much negates any respect that I have for YOUR opinion!

LADBABY
If he was making his picks at the time he wouldnaturally have to "pick" a winner. I see the gameas a toss up with home team having an advantage.Kerwin has to say something or he won't have a "talk" show. He says the rookie takes a step backafter 6 weeks of outperforming. I think he is wrong.
wordtobigbird
where is this idea that be bucs blitz ryan every play and thats what cause the bad game coming from? ryan threw 2 INTs to start the game and was rattled but played okay the rest of the way. the offense couldnt get going with no running game.the eagles gave up huge games to portis and jackson, if turner gets going like that ryan will be breezing against their d. Kirwan is a idiot.......Really. Examples? He was one, that advised the falcons to play a two QB system. Schaub at QB and Vick as RB. Yes that would work in the NFL........We are not in the college. And he was so high about Schaub. It was ridicolous. And so I prove, that I know more about Schaub than he was knowing. I was so pleased with the trade for Schaub. That was the best act by McKay. The trade for Abraham was also fine. But we gave up a firstrounder. And the credentials are a littlebit funny, too.....To be coach has soemthing to do with connections.......Kirwan said so a lot of bad things about the falcons. I cannot like this guy. And the two QBs system was the joke number 1.And so we are back by Kornheiser. He has also no knowledge. But he is proud of that. So I can laugh about him like a comedian. But Kirwan thinks, that he has knowledge about the game. I do not see that. That is my right in a free country! Yes and the user is right from the last post. Where is the idea, that the Bucs played pressure defense. Monte Kiffin is a guru. I hate the Bucs, but you must respect this work. He has so much knowledge. His schemes are a dream.Matt Ryan struggled with the schemes. I do not blame for him. I gave him credit for coming back in the second half. Jim Johnson has a whole different style of defense. Screens, Quick slants to roddy white so you must beat them. A lot of man to man.......That you expect from Jim JohnsonBut I will ask Pat Kirwan, what he thinks....Pehaps we should play with Redman and Ryan in the backfield! Mularkey never really tried to get the run going in the Tampa game. I think they wanted to see how well Ryan would handle Kiffin's defensive schemes. Jesus
Can't post this enough...But against the blitz, Ryan has been very on top of his game. Though he is making only his seventh NFL start, Ryan has already proven to be adept at recognizing pressure and defeating it.Check out these numbers on the guy they've called Matty Ice since high school: So far in 2008, Ryan has been blitzed 48 times, according to Stats Pass. On those 48 attempts, he has connected on 30 passes -- a completion percentage of 62.5 -- for 335 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. Here's the key statistic: Ryan has not been sacked while being blitzed. Indeed, he's the only starting quarterback in the NFL who has not been sacked off a blitz -- pretty good for a rookie.

bigmildog
I don't see it as him calling Ryan a wuss - he CLEARLY isn't a wuss. He was just saying Philly's D is rather solid.I think what your saying is correct. Because Ryan might feel some heat from the Eagles D doesn't imply that he is a wus at all. The Eagles bring a blitz on every second play and they can bring it from anywhere on the field. This will be an excellent test for Ryan and the entire team.
