Jedi-Falcon
Ryan is not going to be rattled by Jim Johnson's blitz schemes, like most QBs. And when he hits that slant for 20 yard gains enough times the Eagles Defense is going to look as bewildered as the Bears Defense looked by the 4th Quarter. That scheme worked well against Vick - it didn't take much to force Vick to tuck-and-run, but it wont work against Matty Ice. And the Eagles will pay for it if they try.Oh, and let's see how well they stop Turner and Norwood while they're focusing on trying to scare our "rookie" QB. Offensively, I see the Falcons putting up about 30 points.Defensively, I don't know. This Defense is very precarious at times, and McNabb can do some damage. I see the Eagles putting up 24 on us.The key to this game is Matt Ryan. If he can hold it together we should come out with a win. And Turner definitely needs to get it going on the ground. We need at least 80 yards out of him this game, which is entirely possible.
bossFALCON™
ryan has great pocket presence and makes his decisions pretty fast. i think he'll be ok.i really hope we can get out to a fast start. like a 10 pt lead or something.
RI Falcon
you can no longer let ryan beat you with his arm. because he can. i think we'll be able to run turner effectively against the eagles. when we run effectively, we win.

BC Fan
As I keep saying, you HOPE Johnson will try to beat Ryan with the blitz. I'm guessing he's too smart for that. My prediction is he shows blitz a ton early hoping to catch Ryan thinking blitz and then getting confused trying to figure out coverages on the fly. My prediction is he shows blitz a ton early hoping to catch Ryan thinking blitz and then getting confused trying to figure out coverages on the fly. This is what Chicago tried to do, and we saw what happened there. Chicago actually rarely blitzed us, they just showed Ryan the blitz on almost every play to try and rattle him. I'm really looking forward to seeing how Ryan handles the complex Philly D scheme. This should show us just how far he still has to go, but I'm really looking forward to seeing how far along he is already.
BC Fan
Fake blitzes might kill Ryan.Or not. You guys are only learning about Ryan. The guy is going to watch 5 years of Philly tape. He'll know Johnson's blitzes and fake blitzes. He might get fooled at times. But he'll undoubtedly win the chess match with Johnson at times, too. It's all about your OL. If they hold, Ryan will be fine.

michaelgee
Fake blitzes might kill Ryan.Ryan's look offs and his ability to read defenses seems to pretty much even out vs Johnson's blitzes and fake blitzes.Ryan's arm speed is another matter, it's gonna be fun. Ryan could throw picks if he doesn't see things. But Ryan's never been fooled over a whole game. He'll be fine. It's your defense you have to worry about. tonegully
as long as the O line is strong and healthy we should be good. Once we establish the pass then the run game will open up and we will run all over them

Durrty
IMO, this will be a great game. I'm almost upset that we have the bye because I'll have to wait another week before we actually play, but at least we're able to get in enough practice and film study to prepare. I'm thinking Ryan may struggle early, but then begin to get comfortable later...probably right before halftime. Hopefully we can keep our turnovers to a minimum...that's why it's so important that Turner is a force in this game. If we can keep the game close starting the second half, and The Burner can pick up some big yards and get the defense more focused on him, we'll be walking out of Lincoln Financial with a win...and playoff contentions. That is key against the Eagles. If we run early and often and keep pounding it, Ryan might have a stellar game. We cannot give up on the Run if it doesn't work early. We have to keep pounding it all the way into the 4th QTR.
ltstorm1
Jim Johnson is smart. Do you guys remember how much in the Championship game Johnson blitzed? Hardly ever. He knew to keep VIck contained and blitzing him would open up rediculous running lanes. There is no telling what Johnson has up his sleeve to stop our offense. Even though I do believe the Eagles live and die with the blitz, Johnson is no idiot.

Why don't WE deserve something special after last year.....!? WE went through somethine NO other NFL fan can relate to..... Yet we STILL believe.....If we lose in Philly so what!?Ryan is a ROOKIE!!!! Anything he does from now on will exceed expectation and there is NO WAY a true football fan can explain what this rookie is doing...Things are looking good for US!!!GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!!!!! mcsupersport
Honestly given the way he adapted to TB after the first half, and given the progression I have seen out of Ryan, I would be very surprised if he gets fooled much. Chicago tried it, and failed. Bucs did it, but Ryan was playing his first road game, first division game and so threw a couple of really bad balls. I think both of his Int in that game were more overthrows rather than bad reads, he was nervous/out of sorts/excited/pumped so much he couldn't make the throws like he does now. So after watching him handle blitzes, fakes, and making the throws with touch and accuracy I think Ryan will do well.If Ryan can pass, the run will open up, if Philly plays run first. If Philly plays pass first, then Turner will burn them. If they try to base D balance it, then our coaches will take what they can when the can, and Ryan will audible out to a good play as needed. My greatest worry is the Defense, McNabb can put up a fiftyburger in a heartbeat, so our D will have to step up to play. But after watching the goal line stand, I think they can, but after watching the 12th second touchdown, I worry they can't.

4dabirds
The Falcons will have to do many things good to have a chance in Philly. Our redzone offense is not very good against good defenses. We don't really run effectively against good defenses. I think you will see the Falcons try the no huddle alot more, and this will be difficult to do on the road. Hopefully the bye week gives us enough time to practice the NH with crowd noise pumped in. Our secondary is going to have to step it up in pass defense, and the DL needs to get pressure on McKnabb, because he will pick us apart. I'm not worried about Ryan. I am worried for our D though. Either way, I've got confidence that we can win, but realtiy tells me that this will be a loss. Hope I'm wrong.
madman88
if we beat the eagles then im on the wagon for saying we will make the playoffs. noone wants to give the falcons credit for what they have done. i believe this is the game that will determine the rest of the season. matt is playing so dam well that its a little scary to be honest. you might as well put white in the elite because he`s not about to drop off, he knows how it feels to be at the bottom when it comes to his performance his first two years. WATCH OUT FOR THIS TEAM ``THIS YEAR ``
Dirty-Bird
The most important thing is to get Turner going. Whether that be by the O-Line making holes or the pass opening up the run we need him to get going. Norwood too. They can really open this game up. Ryan needs to be consistent too. I know he's played great but that doesn't mean we need to put it all on his shoulders yet. We need the run games big against Philly.

We need to run the ball and keep McNabb on the sideline. He is one player who can just go off big any given Sunday. If we get our running game going we can really control the tempo of this game. Special teams will be big too I think seeing as how we need to win the field position battle. I really think we can take Philly though... This will be a good test for our Birds! heretic
Can't you post your usual "falcons have no chance against the ___________"?It worked in the last gamesI predict a 98-3 win for the Eagles.no way we can score a TD, Ryan will throw 12 INTs and Turner will run for 4 yards over 32 carries
