FulCo
11 Seconds. This is a number that Falcons fans will remember forever. But was it just a coincidence that Matty Ice had just 11 seconds to work with? Or did he channel the cosmic energy that he clearly possessed on October 25, 2007 in Lane Stadium in a stunning comeback against the #8 Virginia Tech Hokies. Take a look at this video and notice how many seconds are left after Matty Ice's dramatic TD Pass. That's right: 11 Seconds.11 Seconds my friends. This will be my response from now on when anyone doubts our Atlanta Falcons: 11 Seconds - that's all it takes to rekindle the glory of this once proud franchise. That's all it took to re-energize a franchise and shake up the NFL World!GO FALCONS! The Vent King
Yeah, this was the first game I ever watched concerning Ryan. I decided to check it out since word was spreading that he may become a Falcon and I definitely came away impressed. I also remember thinking to myself (and I was afraid to say it on this msgb besides others beat me to it) that this guy reminds me of Tom Brady. I know we still have a lonnnng way to go but you can't deny Matty Ice has his head on his shoulders alot like the Patriots QB. Like Coach Smith said- "he just has it". You don't what "it" is but it was apparent from this game and the six so far this season that what Smith said was very true.

BC Fan
And for what it's worth, this video doesn't show the 2 minute, 90 yard drive that immediately preceeded the winning drive you see here. BC had to go 90 yards just to get it to 10-7. Then an onside kick, they immediately got the ball back with 2:11, then they go in to win.The Bears game gave you a taste, but you will all come to realize that you are never, ever out of a game with Ryan no matter how bad it looks. JayOzOne
The eleven seconds were like Phelps' victory in the Olympics where the guy had him beat and decided to coast the final four feet, not knowing that Phelps gave an extra (possibly meaningless) half-stroke that gave him the gold. You don't stop until the race is over. Period.

RW84
why didn't ryan win the heisman? i could've cared less before we drafted him, but now i don't see how he didn't win it lol
Falconsfan567
why didn't ryan win the heisman? i could've cared less before we drafted him, but now i don't see how he didn't win it lolBecause of the year Tim Tebow had. He became the first QB to have 20 TD passes and 20 rushing TD in the same season. Add in that Florida lost less games and the SEC is tougher than the ACC and you have your reasons. Poster Large Johnson
lol, first off of course a huge Matt Ryan fan, he has far passed any of my expectations.but that was his 1 good play in college against maybe the 2nd actual team he played in his whole college career. I am cool on Matt Ryan college QB, he is completely different as an NFL QB for the better.
FulCo
Sheik, with all due respect, I'm not sure you know what you are talking about. In addition to the Road Victory over #8 Virgnia Tech (their only Thursday night loss ever at Lane Stadium) which you mention above, Ryan threw for over 400 yards against a Top 15 Georgia Tech team that was supposed to have the best defense in the country (under John Tenuta). He also beat Clemson three times (including twice at Clemson) when the Tigers were a top 15 team. Ryan also led the Eagles to a 22-3 win over Virginia Tech in 2006 (VT is 16-2 all time in ACC road games).Ryan and the Eagles also won a road victory in 2006 over FSU in their "Black Out" game.Matt Ryan was an INCREDIBLE college QB with less talent to work with than most of the other Heisman candidates. If you have any question about his heart or leadership, take a look at the video below: name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350">This is one of the biggest hits you will ever see in College football. Ryan missed ONE PLAY . . . . . while they put his helmet back together. All he did after that was lead the team to a 3 point victory, in overtime, on the road, against a Top 15 Clemson Team.Matt Ryan has been Matt Ryan for a long time.Go Falcons.
