prolikewhoa
Since when is putting the entire tax burden on the rich considered fair? Atlas has shrugged. Are you even rich? Does this affect you? Or are you just so anti-Obama that you want to see the richest people in America get richer? The middle class makes America what it is. mizzufalcfan
Does making $250,000 make you rich?it means you make more tan 98% of rest of country!! rich is subjective term that most people associate w/ multimillionaires. but less than 2% of entire country make more than $250k a year so that is without doubt upper income!!! The middle class makes America what it is.No I'm not rich. I just detest the idea of shifting our tax burden onto a class of people simply because they work harder than everyone else. It's class warfare, and it's wrong. The rich get richer because they are smarter, more productive, and more efficient.

NCFalconfan
Well here's the thing. There's a lot of small business owners out there (the ones who are responsible for employing a huge segment of the population) that have to claim their business income, which in most cases will put them into the 250K bracket. When it comes time for them to foot the extra tax bill, it will probably mean that people will get laid off in order to pay it. That equals out to higher unemployment and less people paying into the system and more people taking out of the system. The ones that don't get laid off get to work harder for the same or even less money and probably get knocked up for the inevitable higher taxes that surely will be coming for the ones who still have income. eatcorn
The $250K+ class should shoulder a tax burden that is a greater percentage of their income than those who do not meet that standard.I'm not sure I'm comfortable with the high rates that Obama is suggesting, and I'm not sure I'm comfortable setting the number at $250K, either. In short, I agree with the idea, but I think his application may be a little extreme.
