David TTU
Truer words have never been spoken. Philly fans are perhaps the most irrational group of fans in existence. Magic Man
I think everyone in the NFL should be worried by the Falcons, because we have proven, that everything you know about us, is only what you've been forcefed, and not the truth. We have beat two teams in a row, that every expert practically chose us to lose against. We're not the cellar dwellers we once were, but "any given Sunday" especially applies to this year's Falcons team.
falconsfan1987
This is going to be a tough game for us. For one it is on the road. Then West brook will be back and most likely healthy. They have to solid corners. So our best bet is to get the run going early. If Turner can have a good game against them it will make this game alot easier. If Matt Ryan can have a game like last week I believe we will be right in the game. Our D will have to step up alot. All in all I will go with the Falcons winning. I believe they will get the run going early and when they start putting 8 in the box Ryan will pick them apart.
David TTU
That's true regardless of what team we're playing.Hopefully Douglas' excellent performance against Chicago is a sign of things to come rather than an abberation. That fingertip grab he made on the deep ball was pretty sweet!DirewolfI thought for sure that ball wasn't being caught. He just reached out and grabbed that ball at the last second, unbelievable

215FalconsFanatic
i am in and from philly. I listen to philly sports radio and i hang out with eagles fans.We should not get cocky with team because we beat the bears and the bears embarrased them. 1) andy reid and staff have an uncanny way of winning after the bye. i believe it is from them having extra time to analyze a teams weaknesses. Even though we are doing very well and overachieving, we do have our weaknesses. 2) the DC is probably the best in the league. If Kiffin gave us problems, JJ might have someone killed. I hope we are devising a plan to neutralize and recognize the blitz packages that they have in store for us. They might not have the greatest talents but they have personnel who fit to their scheme very well and they will come for you. 3) Donovan is not washed up. Forget what you hear or what you see in highlights. He is back to his old self maybe a half a step slower. that is it. he can still improvise and still have a rifle for an arm. we will need to take advantage of opportunity (he will make a mistake or throw an errant ball ala brett favre). we also have to sure tackle. Jackson, westbrook and mcnabb are explosive and make things happen out of nothing. I think one advantage we have is actually the pass rush. i think us being creative in the pass rush may help us to keep their massive tackles from wearing down abraham. i think we will need to bring out all our horses too. Again like the bears game, ryan is the key. he must manage this game and try not to make a mistake. 49ers had the eagles beat and he made a few mistakes. i think also Martz should have took the ball out his hands and road their horse (gore) to victory. I dont think Smith\Murlarkey will make such a mistake. Also i think the DTs are key to us. if they get push up the middle and contain we will get the pressure we need to disrupt. Also beware the screen, i think we should use the nickel more as well so chevis can pound westbrook or cover LJ.
Ryan2RoddyTD
I spent a lil while posting on the iggles board earlier today and not all of them are that bad. Some of them realize this will not be an easy win (although even the best of them are still ********) atleast all of them arent complete morons
Fanboy3000
do the iggles have a mb?Yeah, it's a dry erase board out behind a Geno's.To my Falcon brethren, beating the Bears blitz is way different than beating the Eagles blitz. The Bears couldn't get a sack against Tampa, who threw the ball 60+ times. I'm worried about the game because of Jim Johnson. He and Monte Kiffin just get it done on the defensive end, and if anyone can make our super rookie look bad, it's those guys. But win or lose, we know Ryan and the OL will learn from it and get better. McMVP
My post in that thread....I'm worried that they come off a bye too - and that their team is playing with an entirely different attitude under their new HC. I respect their running game and think Ryan is going to be the real deal in this league. That said, I think giving JJ 2 weeks to find a way to confuse a rook (who has been very impressive when blitzed) works to our favor. Plus we get healthy on offense and their secondary leaves a lot to be desired.Should certainly be a win.

McMVP
If you exposed yourself as a Falcon fan, you'll probably be banned.I've been banned from their board with 3 different accounts for absolutely nothing that violated their CoC. They just didn't like cheering a loss or showing support for their opponent.Join again and stick to the Around the NFL forum - there are plenty of Giants, Redskins, and Cowboys fans there with thousands of posts. The mods are really strict in the TATE forum... War Damn Eagle
I'm not worried about our offense. They're not going to light up the scoreboard no matter who we play from here on out. They will remain conservative until we get down by 2 scores. As l ong as they don't turn it over, they'll be fine.I'm worried about McNabb and especially Westbrook. Our pass defense has been terrible. Houston and Grimes are just not good enough to overcome their lack of size and our lack of pass rush. In their case, the best defense is a good offense. rhourk
Looking around on the Eagles message board seems to me that they aren't scared of out team. So I asking you guys the same question. Should we be scared of the Eagles? They are coming with the same arguements as the Bears. You know the one. We haven't beat anyone with a winning record? Our defense is ranked 24th, so what they have to be scared about? Same ole , same ole!!!http://boards.philadelphiaeagles.com/index...howtopic=515565Well any arguments the Bears used are obviously null and void. I don't really want to hear the winning record crap either, because the Eagles don't have a winning record, so that makes no sense. They are living off their pre-season rep. They got lucky against the Steelers, and they beat the 49ers and the Rams, whoopie.Whatever, I am glad we're the underdogs. We have been favored in what, 1 game this year? t just makes it sweeter. And by the way the Bears beat the Eagles.

gjlaf
If we had a quarterback that got jittery when under pressure I would be very worried, but Matt has done a great job of keeping his composure even under alot of pressure. As long as they let their plays develope and keep Matt's blind side safe we have a good shot at winning this game. But if our secondary looks like they did against the Bears we are going to have a very tough game ahead of us. If Westbrook is healthy we are going to have to keep tabs on him also. So, We are in the game but we have to play smart. JMO.
Poster Large Johnson
We have a good offense that did good against a tough defense(Chicago). But the Eagles will pose the opposite threat of a great offense against our pretty bad defense. It scares me a lot more.JJ's Eagles D>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>The overrated Bears D

War Damn Eagle
We had a preseason rep?I think he's saying that everyone knows that Philly has been solid for years. As Falcons fans, we're just tired of all this talk about not beating a winning team. IMO, that doesn't mean squat. San Diego is probably the best team in the league and look at their record. That's the NFL. No one can be taken for granted. The Falcons deserve some respect but no one is going to be shocked if/when Philly kicks our azz. If the Falcons win, which I think is completely in the realm of possibily, the world will be shocked. I like our position.
