SoLuvinMyFalcons
Looking around on the Eagles message board seems to me that they aren't scared of out team. So I asking you guys the same question. Should we be scared of the Eagles? They are coming with the same arguements as the Bears. You know the one. We haven't beat anyone with a winning record? Our defense is ranked 24th, so what they have to be scared about? Same ole , same ole!!!http://boards.philadelphiaeagles.com/index...howtopic=515565

Icarus2.0
I'm not guaranteeing anything, W or L. I'm treating this like the Bears game. We are a competitive team going up against another competitive team. (With that being said...the bears beat them...and we beat the bears....We're in this game)

Maybe its not as good as we once thought, but it would be nice to see them get back on track against Atlanta. As far as the rookie, JJ will take care of him.I guess I'm saying that I myself am not worried about Atlanta. Is anyone?Sorry this post is not about Roy Williams.Atlanta has the 25th overall defense. 20th in run defense and 24th in pass defense. Does that sound threatening to anybody? Get Westbrook back healthy and improve the blocking in the next two weeks. Make some better play selections and execute better in the red zone.BUT OMOMOGMS WED DON'T HAVE ROWILWIAMS!Yeah, I guess. It'd be nice to have him, but passing isn't our problem right now. --------------------Proud Eagle fan for 22 years. Please end my torture in 2008! That's no small thing though. They have a legit running game, running that zone scheme that WAS gashed us with. If we have to commit 8 to stop the run, then they can get good matchups down the field with White in play action and they become very dangerousTheir D isn't great, although Abraham is having a huge year

ltstorm1
I think that if Matt can beat their blitz and if we can stop their passing attack( BIg If's I know) we should win. How well do the Eagles stop the run?

How well do the Eagles stop the run?Well, before Portis and Gore took them apart the past two weeks, they were number one against the run over the first month. Let's hope the recent trend continues. formul8or
We have a good offense that did good against a tough defense(Chicago). But the Eagles will pose the opposite threat of a great offense against our pretty bad defense. It scares me a lot more.

How well do the Eagles stop the run?As of right now I believe they are 10th. Giving up a little under 100 yards a game. I think its like 98.3 or something like that... GreenFire
We have just as much of a chance as we did in any other game. McNabb is not the same McNabb of 2004, I don't care what anyone says. He is a good quarterback, but if they cannot get that running game going we can beat them. I am not sure how the Eagles are going to play us defensively. Are they going to commit against the run like the Bears did? Are they going to go after Ryan? Or will they play balanced, knowing they will have to stop the pass and the run?Ryan can dissect a defense when it plays against the run, like any good QB should. But he is a rookie, and making strides every game. So while the Eagles are dangerous, I believe we have more weapons than they do. We have a TOUGH running game that can keep Westbrook and that offense off the field. I believe we are a better team, but the Falcons have to show it on Sunday. The Bears shut down our run game and they blitzed us quite a bit and Ryan absolutely scorched them. If this person is advocating using the same strategy that failed so miserably last week, he's in for a rude awakening.Which is strange, though, since his/her next comment is dead-on.Not sure what this person was trying to say.Direwolf

falcons5628
You do not have to be scared of the eagles but understand the potentially dangerous situation the falcons are walking into. Although Donovan Mcnabb is not the player of old, he still is a very good quarterback with tons of experience. With the Falcons lack of pass rush he can sit in the pocket and expect him to pick us apart. I am surprised no one has mentioned DeSean Jackson. Being a rookie he has played well and has great speed. It will be an interesting match up against our secondary. With all that said I do think the Falcons can win because as others said if we can run the ball and put up seven then we will be fine. Clock control does not matter if we are not scoring. Falcons can win this game but it will be a difficult task.

JayOzOne
If they're blitzing, Ryan needs to make the hot read and make the quick decision on who to throw to. We won't win if the receivers drop six or seven passes like they did in the Carolina game.

That fingertip grab he made on the deep ball was pretty sweet!Direwolf
grimjacx
Just so you know, there are some knowledgeable iggles fans on this board:700 levelthey are not afraid of some friendly banter either. looks like they want Reid fired! The Eagles, at 3-3, are remarkably right back in the NFC race. On paper yes... Possible yes.... Gonna happen.... NO. BrotherIggleRE: What we think we know at the bye Reply 10/14/2008 10:16 PM Facolns Seahawks Bengals Giants You get Westy back.. Fred_BarnettRE: What we think we know at the bye Reply 10/14/2008 10:43 PM They could easily lose all four of those games and I wouldn't be surprised. I don't think that WILL happen, but if it did... Someone said on here previously they were tempted to hope the Eagles would start losing just to get Banner and Reid out of here, and I have to say... Welcome to the Dark Side. I'm right there with you Darth
