SnowFalcon
So Brent Grimes is a week away from becoming the latest Falcon corner to receive the nickname of "toast". Why hasn't Domonique Foxworth played a bigger role on this defense in our secondary which has struggled at time? He had some **** good years in Denver and I think he would be a upgrade over our current corners.Thoughts?
formul8or
I want to see him or Jackson replace Grimes. Grimes is a great competitor and sticks to receivers but his size is going to kill us everytime.
SnowFalcon
I agree, Chevis Jackson has a lot of upside, he was a beast in college.
Georgia Tech Bearfan
I agree, Chevis Jackson has a lot of upside, he was a beast in college. What was Chevis's ringback tone again?
fedexguy77
I was at the game Sunday...I noticed at the end of the game near the the end zone they took out Grimes and put in Foxworth for several plays. I think because Grimes bumped up his knee. Also they maybe have lost confidence in Grimes with the size issue and the lob/over the top passes in the end zone? Not sure but I would imagine they will begin working Foxworth in a little more each game. Grimes isnt bad, but he is just a stop gap until we have a better option. falconfanatic365
See I'm thinking Houston instead of Grimes. Houston has been getting burned far more often in my opinion. Look at what Grimes just did to the tight end Greg Olsen on the corner of the end zone matchup. Houston was drafted as a man corner. His knock coming out of college and the reason why he fell so far in the draft is because all of the draft guru's said he excelled in man but was toast in zone coverages and they weren't sure he'd be able to adjust. He's stil in year two and young with potential and incredibly gifted athletically. I just hope he develops into a football stud the way he was a combine stud. SnowFalcon
Either one could go in my opinion, Domonique Foxworth was a stud, and I'd like to see him start against the Eagles.
Rockford
Perhaps FOxworth will get more PT after having the bye week to let him study up on the playbook et al.
falconfanatic365
On the surface I want Foxworth to take over for Houston, but based on this offseason and season so far I'll just have to trust our coaching staff and trust in their decision making. I believe they will put the best players who fit what they need in the best position to make plays.
JayOzOne
I think an interior lineman who can actually push up the middle would make both CBs a lot better. Unfortunately, we don't have that person. My question then becomes is a stud DT more of a priority next draft than a great man corner? Their success kind of goes hand in hand with each other. NYFalconsFan
There are two plays I remember Foxworth getting playing time, the first was the Warrick Dunn TD against us where Foxworth couldn't stop him and the other being when he came in to replace Grimes for a play against Green Bay and Rodgers went on to throw a TD where Foxworth never got his head turned around, while he may have gotten in on other plays I don't remember seeing him do anything noteworthy. I did see Grimes break up two passes that would have went for TDs against Booker and Olsen.Personally I think Foxworth should get more playing time at either spot but I trust Mike Smith to put the best players on the field and if he thinks Grimes and Houston are better then Foxworth then I will trust him more then couch coaches. bossFALCON™
i wanted fox over grimes but last game grimes stepped up some so maybe he can keep his play up and retain his job.houston has been playing better (minus the one bears play for a TD) every week since he nearly got benched.the coaches will put the best two options out there. Jedi-Falcon
We could do a lot worse than Chris Houston. Has everyone already forgotten about Jason Webster? He's a work in progress, he's getting better.Grimes is a great football player. He plays his position well. The only flaw in him is his height, and he can't help that. He can jump pretty high but he is too short to play in the NFL. That sucks because everything else about him is All-Pro quality.
A-TowN.-
He is learning a new defense along with everybody else.I'm sure him or Chevis will step up.
SwaG FactorY EnT
Grimes made a huge play against the Bears tight end when they tried to lob it too him in the end zone, and couple of times down the field. Im just gonna keep trusting the coaching staff and what they are doing because we are winning games. Thats all I can ask for.If I had to pick someone who I wanted to see have more playing time it would be Chevis Jackson. He has great ball skills and good instincts, hes fast and has decent height. I think He could make some impact plays, inparticular interception wise.Remember he was the only corner who had an interception in preseason, with two
SwaG FactorY EnT
Oh yea and If Chevis started Id have him at the number two and have Houston replace Grimes and then Grimes as the nickel
A-TowN.-
Chevis should start before too long, he just needs to learn some more and get a little bit faster.I think Chevis has a TON of potential. Notice the sig, ha.
wordtobigbird
i remember when roddy needed to be replaced.people go way overboard these days, its only been 6 games, his nfl career isnt over yet.

SwaG FactorY EnT
Yea I like tha SIG! I've been in Mississippi for a few years now, one of my friends has season tickets every year for LSU, so i get to go to all the home games. I knew Chevis would be good when he came into the league I was so happy when we drafted him
1989Fan
this team will not bench Grimes. They love the guy. He is a small school youngster, and playing very well for the circumstances. They see him as a future cog in the secondary as much as any player on the roster.Houston on the other hand, they already threatened his starting job once..... LADBABY
I don't know if Foxworth is the answer but Houston is the question...not Grimes. Grimes and Houston are the same size. Houston looks better in his uniform, I will give him thatbut as a player I will take Grimes, so far. We must remindourselves that we are only 6 games in. Grimes has beenpicked on for 6 games and he and Houston are about tiedin td's given up. Houston looks in the backfield and gets caught flat-footed almost anytime they want to go deep.He has great recovery speed but can't seem to get it done.
