article on ESPN with Blank talking about former ATL player

Recommended Posts

See you later Dogfighter, we will never forget how you attempted to destroy this franchise. If it wasn't for the cunning, genius known as Arthur Blank to make the hires he has, we probably wouldn't have a franchise.

Al Davis is on line one.

He didn't try to destroy the franchise!! why do people keep saying that. He did a crime and got caught. dam. let it go.

No, but he took a public pissing on the Falcons, Arthur Blank, the fans and the community. Blank paid him huge money and the fanbase and community absolutely loved the guy, and that was Vicks way of saying thanks guys for the money and the support.

Any pick(s) we can get for Vick will be a small compensation for what he did to this franchise.

Seceond, let's not forget that when he leaves prison he still has to face Virginia felony charges for gambling activities and the dogfighting ring, which could imprison him for an additional 10 years. Third he has to convince Godell that lying him into his open face was a once i a lifetime act.

I cheered for Vick when he was here, but i'm a Falcons fan not a player fan, and i couldn't care less what Vick's future brings him, just like he didn't care about the Falcons future.

The biggest problem right now is that we have 11 days without football...thats killing me!

Well, I'll say this - this is a volatile subject with our fans - many are still hurt and angry - others are still clinging to hope.

Personally, I think he is like any other human being - he pays the price and hopefully learned from his consequences and then deserves a chance to start over - like any other human being on this earth. What he does with that chance is up to him. I hope he chooses well.

That being said - if he comes back into the NFL - the Falcons will have the trade rights - I would be willing to bet money that they will do something very similar to what Green Bay did - he won't go to anyone in our division or that we will have to play for a long while. They wouldn't want the media hoopla of a game with him leading an opposing team.

He probably hasn't learned a thing. He should've learned it after he gave that women herpes. It's been one apology to the next with Vick. He was indicted for dog fighting then was caught blazing drugs. Thanks to our great owner, Vick can get his 60th chance elsewhere.

Oh well he fought dogs. people do it all the time. who the **** cares. He got caught. He is doing his time. Let him do his time and lets get something for him. stop with all this cry baby ****.

Second. i thought he was in jail now for gambling

Third. If pacman jones can play...Ray lewis can play...anyone can play. Godell really set the standard with PacMan Jones and Ray Lewis. so all that player conduct is out the window.

Fourth. VIck will play again. Because NFL is a business and he will sell tickets.

I just wish people on the board will let this go and stop blaming VIck for last season, its water under the bridge. We have a new leader and lets roll with that.

Besides i dont think Blank would be saying much if we were losing.

You know better than this...

Vick is still under indictment for his role in the dogfighting ring and the related gambling activity, this trial has been delayed until he is released from federal prison and could give him up to 10 years further in prison.

The relation to Pacman is like comparing apples to grapes. Vick is serving 23 months in prison from dogfighting and lying, add to that mix the indictment for gambling, and you have a case that has no comparison to a guy that gets drunk and wants to fight.

So the bottomline is, if Vick gets to play again let's get some value for him and let both sides move on. That goes for us fans aswell.

i actually am hoping Vick gets a 2nd chance and i believe he should have i think he has been used as a example of and thats wrong in our society . Everyone knows I wasnt the biggest Vick fan but that had noting to do with his color more along the lines of work ethic and the fans that he brought along that had no respect for this franchise ..You see the fans still linger wishing for Vick to return and acted like Vick never did anything wrong..Again my comments were made in joke .. The fans that make this franchise look bad are the ones holding out hope Vick will return and wishing for Ryan to fail..You still seem there around ..Case is evident on this message board...We have moved on from Vick , i hope the fans he brought along finally come to that point as well and either grasp the concept of being a fan no matter who is playing for the team BLACK OR WHITE ;)

in one line you're not supporting a player on the team and then call out other fans for not doing the same......

folks this is what you call double standard

Blank was fully committed to Ryan from the second he drafted Ryan and that was the very same second Vick´s time in Atlanta ended. The only reason why Blank waited to openly say so was that he needed a good moment where he wouldn´t offend those Falcons fans who still love Vick. When a guy like Stunna admits that Ryan is now the QB of the future, then it´s the right moment to officially say good bye to Vick.

Good timing by Arthur Blank

Who would even want Vick? On the field he was never very good and he's a quitter. Off the field he cares more about smoking pot than studying the playbook. America hates him now and the drama it would cause a team to bring him in just isn't worth it.

Goodell should ban him for life.

I'm going to tell you something honestly here. In most cases when you go to prison you don't come out in better shape then you went in. Vick was never a guy who got by on doing things the right way when it came to playing QB. He got by because he's probably the greatest athlete to ever play the position.

Now make him take a couple of years off (at best) and then expect him to step back onto a football field and play against NFL caliber talent when he hasn't had too for a couple of years and the idea of him being even serviceable can't be rational.

Maybe he could come back if he were a running back but if you play QB you just can't take that much time off and still be effective IMO.

what prison have you ever been to? ive been locked up several times and always come out better than when i stepped in.

Michael is going to come out in great shape. His body hasn't been taking hits for 2 years and he's kept up his strength. What people keep forgetting is the NFL is not the only league. There are leagues like the UFL and the Arena Football league that are waiting to throw a barrel of cash at him just to have his name. Mark Cuban is a smart man because he knows having Michael will get people coming to the games and give them a big name. If Michael plays his cards right he can come out in a good spot, he just needs to wait and keep working out.

The only problem with trading Vick is.......

(2009); $10.5 million (2010); $13.5 million (2011); $13 million (2012); $15 million (2013); and $17 million (2014).

..........finding someone who is willing to pay his salary.

Which will be impossible

There is a chance, however, that Vick will realize this and accept a trade where he has to tear up his deal and sign a different one.

I don't think something like tht has ever happened - but this is, after all, a unique situation.

That is the only way a trade would happen, and even then we wouldn't get much of anything in return. What did the Packers get for Farve, a conditional 4th? And that's for a HOFer, one of the best to play the position, who was coming off a great season.

It will be probably be around a 6th rounder

With escalators that climb to as high as a 3rd or 4th based on playing time, performance, etc.

1st - We all knew MIke was done in Atlanta. No surprise there, but AB is such the narcissist, 4-2 has him believing Super Bowl and to **** with Mike. That's fine, but how about a little class. If that's your intentions, who cares, but now that he has insisted that Mike will never play in Atlanta again, just cut him. Don't be a punk about it, because you can't win in this situation. No team is going to give you jack for him anyway because you just played your hand and with all your ego, why place Favre like demands on a team in the division. AB is about a buck anyway, so the dome will be SRO if Vick goes to Tampa(very high), Carolina(high), or New Orleans(very low).

2nd - There are still 10 games to go.....a lot can happen between now and then - let's see how this all plays out b/c at the wink of an eye - Matty Spice could be taken away on a stretcher, or I'll try one better - face a semi-healthy team? Falcons have been lucky thus far, but i'll like to see what Philly has for him.

You gals are still silly. Such hate - you would have thought he fought your dogs!
