SWIFT HITTER
Come on, we still bring up Tuggle and Nobis much less a QB who was our starter 2 years ago. Let's not act like he is 20 yr old news, what happen to him and to this franchise currently effects us today. In fact, he is still on our roster. At the same token, this is a new era, I refuse to call it the Matt Ryan era. I will call it the Operation Birds Era starting now.we should talk about old time Falcons great like Tuggle, Case, Mathis , Nobis cause they respresented us proudly ..When or if I ever have a kid and he sees my Vick jersey in the closet and ask daddy who was Vick ..I would say he was one of the greatest talents to ever grace the NFL but never put it together and will go down as wasted talent ... SWIFT HITTER
Well first let me apologize for not recognizing that it was in fun, but what is bothering me is the fact that the original post you made was mocking his speech and writing capabilities, and while I may be young I've seen enough of this done to tease minoirites and it bothered and offended me. I know you didn't like him not because of his color. I knew that much, but when we were winning you didn't like him and you talked about his passing and said he couldn't be consistent. Matt Ryan has already thrown more passes this past game than Vick did the first 3 or 4 games of his final season as our QB. It's not that I haven't moved on from Vick the QB but it's moreso that many people aren't going to be like me and say sorry for jumping the gun and take these kind of comments to heart.I am happy with Ryan, don't think otherwise. Like I have said before "Falcon fan 1st, and player(s) fan 2nd."no problem man I understand ...but thats just me..I say some crazy and wild stuff that might seem off the wall to you or others but its just me talking from the hip...I would make fun of everybody white, black puerto rican, jewish and even myself..I cant spell and have been called out on numerous occasiosn for it..I laugh it off
FalconsFor6
And this topic continues to bring out the childishness on these boards...

I still don't know what his career could end up like and neither do you.
oregonsfan
Y? He's talented and can still play. He's committed one crime and what now he's not worth a look?I think the team will do whatever it can do to lessen the cap hit. I also think we may end up in a Brett Farve-type situation where we hang on to his contract until he renegotiates it with another team, then trade him. Works for me. I'm going to be honest when we got Ryan I thought it was a strong PR move and it was, but that's Blank. While TD had the last say Blank is the owner and with the money he gave Ryan he made a statement and while I think Vick will redeem himself and I hope it's not against us, I am happy to see a QB develop as a QB and not have to learn the QB position. Sure Vick had different schemes to learn, and this was my excuse for years, but now I can't give him that after seeing Ryan. I do feel though if we had Murlarky as our OC when Vick was here things could've been different now, but hindsight is 20/20 and I am looking forward to a 14-2 (yes I said it) because I believe enough in this team that it could happen. coryb78
Y? He's talented and can still play. He's committed one crime and what now he's not worth a look? One crime? The guy didn't exactly get a ticket for Jay Walking here!!! He is a convicted felon!! Not just a convicted felon either because it's not like he just got busted doing some cocaine or something like that. He financed a major dog fighting operation and brought the wrath of the entire freaking US down on the Falcons.ONE CRIME????!!!!!! That's a damning thing to say on your part, sir. coryb78
We could at the least get a 4th.A 4th? You think teams are going to line up to bring that media circus to their franchise?Dude Al Davis may be dead by then!

#1 pick™
Another thing to consider...I wonder how Vick will feel about the potential of not starting? The team that bring him in will likely start him, I'll take it they will probably suck anyway. Another thing is Vick is broke, so money/finding a job might be his top priority, not PT.
bigmildog
I didn't expect to see Vick in an ATL uniform ever again anyway. I do wish him good luck with the Vikings though.
michaelgee
I thought Arthur was incredibly classy and gracious about the whole thing. The Book is Closed, Thank You Mr Blankwe be movin on these days, look at us flying in high style!Ok so, is the trade option now officially on the table?I say we should at least get a Winnebago for him. mc
dammYep, Never saw anyone shame a franchise like him. Fans that wished he would do something like that are just as bad as him.know what I mean?
michaelgee
i actually am hoping Vick gets a 2nd chance and i believe he should have i think he has been used as a example of and thats wrong in our society . Everyone knows I wasnt the biggest Vick fan but that had noting to do with his color more along the lines of work ethic and the fans that he brought along that had no respect for this franchise ..You see the fans still linger wishing for Vick to return and acted like Vick never did anything wrong..Again my comments were made in joke .. The fans that make this franchise look bad are the ones holding out hope Vick will return and wishing for Ryan to fail..You still seem there around ..Case is evident on this message board...We have moved on from Vick , i hope the fans he brought along finally come to that point as well and either grasp the concept of being a fan no matter who is playing for the team BLACK OR WHITE what went wrong wasn't society, the calamity was between Michael Vick's ears.No way you give anybody 120 million and they blow everything in such a pathetic way.well, only this guy I suppose.I wish him well anyplace else, HOWEVER, I would delight in watching our Team take him on, just like MeAngelo Fall.If there is ever a rivalry we MUST win, it would be vs whomever is fortunate to land this guy.God help them. REV.2000
There you have it Vick supporters. It's done. Game, set match. Vick will NEVER play in a Falcon jersey again. Time to move on or move out. Ryan is the the man and he will not let us down, like Vick did.WELL MAYBE I NEED TO TELL YOU SOMETING. I WAS A FALCON FAN BEFORE MIKEVICK WAS BORN, AND PROBABLY YOU TO. JUST BECAUSE THERE ARE SOME WHOHAVE THE GUTS TO SAY WE LIKE THE PLAYER, DOESN'T MEAN WE CONDON WHATVICK THE MAN DID. I NEVER THOUGHT ONE MOMENT HE WOULD PLAY HERE AGAIN. AND I WAS PROMOTING MATT RYAN BEFORE YOU . I THINK YOU WERE ONE WHODIDN'T WANT US TO DRAFT HIM. I'VE SEEN'EM ALL COME AND GO. MATT RYAN DOESN'TNEED YOU TO BASH ON VICK TO LIFT HIM UP. OR IS IT JUST SOMETHING YOU'VE HADEATING INSIDE YOU TILL NOW?? I STILL LIKE MIKE VICK, AND MATT RYAN TOO.NOW MESS WITH THAT.

SnowFalcon
See you later Dogfighter, we will never forget how you attempted to destroy this franchise. If it wasn't for the cunning, genius known as Arthur Blank to make the hires he has, we probably wouldn't have a franchise.Al Davis is on line one. Bruce Kwartler
Thank god and good riddance!! Not like this was news to anyone with a brain -- but nice to have it out there. Maybe we can trade the puppy-puncher to the Raiders for something.
