Well that ends Vick official stay in Atlanta. Bye Mike, and good luck in the future, go to San Fran...

Yeah that's what Blank says today. Until recently Blank never held that strong of an opinion against Vick returning to Atlanta. By the time it's Vicks time (if it ever comes) for him to be reinstated there is no telling what Blank will say. Blank seems to be a guy who makes decisions based on emotion and bull headedness at times (see the Vick contract).

Now that Blank has a new golden boy it's alot easier for him to say, "Vick will never play for the Falcons again."

Well of course he can say this now because Matt Ryan has shown that he can lead the team. If Matt Ryan would have stumbled I doubt Arthur Blank would have made this statement because Michael Vick's services still could have been needed. Now that you have a QB for the future he's moving on. Its all about business, Arthur Blank wants to win and he is going to do what it takes to win. So with that said I think Michael could do well in Oakland or with the Vikings. Those teams are going to need a QB and I think Mike will come out of prison extremely in shape and a freakish athlete. His other option that is floating around is the UFL. I heard Mark Cuban mentioning him several times and they would love to have his talent in the league and would pay him big dollars to play.

I'm going to tell you something honestly here. In most cases when you go to prison you don't come out in better shape then you went in. Vick was never a guy who got by on doing things the right way when it came to playing QB. He got by because he's probably the greatest athlete to ever play the position.

Now make him take a couple of years off (at best) and then expect him to step back onto a football field and play against NFL caliber talent when he hasn't had too for a couple of years and the idea of him being even serviceable can't be rational.

Maybe he could come back if he were a running back but if you play QB you just can't take that much time off and still be effective IMO.

Alot easier to say at 4-2....im glad we have the success that we do with Ryan....But its amazing how vague Blank was until Matt started shining....Every Vick fan said the same thing, that if Matt did well Vick would be gone for good.....Vick will be back in the league as a QB and I hope he goes to a super bowl contender that needs a good QB....I hope he gets a ring and lands on a good team with a good OL and WR so he can finally show the skills that he really has

You probably think that Vick did nothing wrong and this whole thing is just an example of people picking on a prominent black man.

After seeing how seemingly lenient Gooddell is being with the whole, "Pacman" Jones situation over and over again I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Vick back in the NFL.

If I were going to bring Vick back though I would be very slow about doing so. Forgetting about the money side of things and just focusing on the personnell side of things I would bring Vick in and keep him inactive for the first season so that people would forget about him. Once he wasn't the hot topic to take a stance on people would lose interest.

After the 1st year then I would see if he was worth starting and if he were then maybe I would. The point is that you have to do this in steps. You don't want to deal with the backlash all at one time because it can be crippling. We had to deal with it when Vick was on his way out. God only knows how bad it could be if he were on his way back in. Probably ten fold of what we dealt with.

Expect major backlash when you sign him and then expect more when you start him but if you break it up neither should be so bad that your franchise goes into a downward spiral.

And once again stupidity rears its ugly head and his name is Swift Hitter. I could go as far to say that this is borderline racism. You are trying to mock his speech by making him appear illterate and that he can't speak nor write well. You can't tell me it's not racist because I've never seen this done to mock someone of the majority.

Some of us knew Ookie wouldn't be playing for the Falcons anymore a long time ago. He only played when "he" wanted to play anyway.

Nice to see that Blank is still falling for the hustle.

He played only when he wanted to play or was it that he didn't react to things the way you see the good ol' boys do? He was very non-chalant I do admit but so is Eli Manning but he doesn't get grief.

It's fans like you that make true Falcon fans look bad. You bashed him when we were winning and losing and instead of being a man you kick a man while he's down. I just can't believe that someone can actually lack as much intelligence as you appear to lack, which makes me think you do this on purpose and you are actually fairly bright....

....but I doubt that <_<

i actually am hoping Vick gets a 2nd chance and i believe he should have i think he has been used as a example of and thats wrong in our society . Everyone knows I wasnt the biggest Vick fan but that had noting to do with his color more along the lines of work ethic and the fans that he brought along that had no respect for this franchise ..You see the fans still linger wishing for Vick to return and acted like Vick never did anything wrong..Again my comments were made in joke .. The fans that make this franchise look bad are the ones holding out hope Vick will return and wishing for Ryan to fail..You still seem there around ..Case is evident on this message board...We have moved on from Vick , i hope the fans he brought along finally come to that point as well and either grasp the concept of being a fan no matter who is playing for the team BLACK OR WHITE ;)

I DID i was joking I just hate these topics..I havent made a Vick topic inawhile but yet people still need to bring him up ...geez

Come on, we still bring up Tuggle and Nobis much less a QB who was our starter 2 years ago. Let's not act like he is 20 yr old news, what happen to him and to this franchise currently effects us today. In fact, he is still on our roster. At the same token, this is a new era, I refuse to call it the Matt Ryan era. I will call it the Operation Birds Era starting now.

It's ironic to me that Blank never spoke that strongly against Michael coming back until after this past Sunday. I think Blank became fully committed to Ryan as soon as Jason Elam's sixth field goal attempt sailed through the uprights. Lets be realistic about this. The worse thing that could have ever happened was the Falcons enetering the bye week 1-5 or 2-4. Because the 'rumblings' about MIchael coming back would have gotten louder as the season progressed. I agree with an earlier poster that it is much easier for Blank to profess his committment and belief in Ryan after seeing the Falcons enter the bye week at 4-2. The statement he made about "turning the page on Michael" should have been months ago. And if you say, "he did say that." Then, my response to that would be, 'he should have used the same conviction he used in this article back then.' Maybe he said these things privately and this is the first time we have heard them publicly. I don't know . . .

Well first let me apologize for not recognizing that it was in fun, but what is bothering me is the fact that the original post you made was mocking his speech and writing capabilities, and while I may be young I've seen enough of this done to tease minoirites and it bothered and offended me. I know you didn't like him not because of his color. I knew that much, but when we were winning you didn't like him and you talked about his passing and said he couldn't be consistent. Matt Ryan has already thrown more passes this past game than Vick did the first 3 or 4 games of his final season as our QB. It's not that I haven't moved on from Vick the QB but it's moreso that many people aren't going to be like me and say sorry for jumping the gun and take these kind of comments to heart.

I am happy with Ryan, don't think otherwise. Like I have said before "Falcon fan 1st, and player(s) fan 2nd."
