DurtyBirds02
I jsut had to say how GREAT of a job that Mike Smith is doing. He is a great head coach. You can tell the players love and respect the man. The players fight hard until the clock hits zero, and thats what we really needed. We have the team unity back, and no stupid distractions He had quite the hole he had to dig out of for this orginazation, and he filled it. TD made the right choice hireing this guy. Here is to a new era of the Atlanta Falcons!!!!
SetzerFalcon
I know most think it's entirely too soon to make this statement but I don't really care at this point, I honestly believe before all this is said and done that Dimitroff/Smith will be spoken of in the same way Pioli/Bellichick are: the best. AngryPez
The man is an excellent football coach and a real leader. I heard Mort talking about him last week on Buck and Kincade and he said that he felt that, talent wise, Smitty has been a top coaching prospect for a little while but nobody knew about him because he is not a self promoter.I hope all of this pans out and that we have found our "big toe". J-Dubb
I think him & TD were both the perfect choices
The_ATL
He seems to have the perfect temperment for a young football team. He is a players coach but isnt afraid to rip any of them a new one.
Icarus2.0
He makes excellent decisions with the red flag.
ballfan
I LOVED how he got furious about the Grimes offsides. I believe he is not as mild mannered as some would like to believe. The coach has to have some fire. I know I had somme fear for every one of my great coaches!
aerosmith67
He makes excellent decisions with the red flag. This is true, even in the case of the R.White play against Green Bay, it was worth a shot. Smith has truly impressed me from the first open mini-camp through today he's not only gained the respect of the players but by and large the fans as well. Karst41
To See Ryan jump up on Smith was cool. How many times have you seen that?Talk about Team Spirit and Unity!
=abrahamburger=
Too bad coaches don't get contracts. It would be nice to see this guy stick around for more than 2-3 years (or any Falcons coach for that matter. That is, if he doesn't give some asinine radio interview about wanting to coach in Washington like someone else we knew.
