Ranger 69
Even thoug Michael Turner didn't put up the rushing yard numbers that we are used to seeing, he was still a major factor in the Falcon's success today. The fact that the Bears had enough respect/fear for his rushing abilities to keep stuffing the box helped open up the passing game for the Flacons. Also give credit to Atlanta's coaching staff for continuing to feed the ball to Turner which forced the Bears to stuff the box to counter the run game.Don't get me wrong. I'm in no way taking anything away from Matt Ryan. He playe a brilliant game. However, don't badmouth Turner because his total yards and yards per carry were low. There is no doubt that Michael Turner was a major factor in today's win.

Statick
I think most of us already know that if it weren't for the threat of Turner's running that Matt would have a tougher time trying to pass the ball.

No need to put one person above another, unfortunately stats have that effect on people.Im glad Turner is on this team, together with all the other birds
harveybirdman
I hope teams realize that going forward, if you take away the run and force Ryan to beat you, he can and will....With all due respect to the rushing ability of our former qb, this is what happens when your offense isn't one dimensional

However, the way that some folks on this board over react to stats, sometimes you have to state the obvious.
mcsupersport
More teams will now plan for a more balanced offense, because up until today Ryan had not proved that he could beat you by himself. In our two losses you stopped Turner and Ryan couldn't convert. Now with this game, Chicago stacked the box and stopped Turner and Ryan stepped up and beat them. You really have to give props to Chicago's D, they are really good, but most teams can't stack 8-9 in the box and still stop a good passer. They made a choice, one most teams have and probably still will, stop the run and make a rookie beat you. Ryan can do it, so eventually it will help Turner because teams will have to stop stacking the box and respect the pass and Ryan.Go Falcons.
