SWIFT HITTER
The Kansas City Star has confirmed that the Chiefs are talking to other teams about a possible Tony Gonzalez trade.Profootballtalk.com reported the same news earlier Saturday and NFL.com had an inkling this might be coming a few weeks ago. The Star indicates that the Chiefs won't settle for a low-round pick, which may hurt a chance for a deal. No other teams have been mentioned, but this is a rare deadline rumor that makes sense.atleast make a offer...Dj Shockley and a 4th. Yes Tony G is up there in age and we are building for the future but having his skills on the field would only help Ryan develop and same with our other tight ends..Plus it would also help Roddy not face as much roll coverages as he has ..opens up the middle of the field
falconfan82
if the cheifs would trade him for shockley and a 4th id do it

bossFALCON™
pass unless we are getting him for a 4th or less, which i doubt.EDIT: nevermind i see they dont want a low round pick for him.
Frenzy™®
i thought about the same thing, could you imagine tony with us?He said he wants to go to a contender......

Goodoleboy58
we arent making the playoffs this year.. i dont know Gonzo's contract status but if it's only his year then why even bother... just my opinion
ukfalc
We need to continue building for the future via the draft, not wasting picks for expensive veterans...
harveybirdman
can't see the demand being high, LOTS of bad *** receiving TE's that may come out in the draft.
stumpjumper
can't see the demand being high, LOTS of bad *** receiving TE's that may come out in the draft. That's good news at least. Hartsock hasn't exactly been bad for us either though.
goosedaddy70
Tony wants to go to a Contender. That was what he said in his discussion with the GM and Owner. I don't think he is going to put us up there as one of his "teams to go to."
Lord Sarcomere
On second thought...I would prefer just keeping Peelle around. He's a good pass catcher...its just hat he never gets any love. He's been a solid pickup for us.
popcornplaya
Meh, if we need a TE we should wait till Jermaine Gresham comes out, he'll be cheaper.
SWIFT HITTER
We need to continue building for the future via the draft, not wasting picks for expensive veterans...i agree but your not going to get a player of Tony G caliber with a low draft pick ...If we were a missing piece away I would say make the move but clearly we are a couple of years away from being a contender but if I was Td whats to hurt to offer. Noone expected the Giants to win a Super Bowl last season when they got on a roll late....Tony G still has 3 years atleast in football in him .. he did have 99 recp and 1200 yards just last season on a awful team

But right now I dont think the Falcons are looking to acquire a veteran such as him. I think the off-season was a good message that the Birds want to start as close to scratch as possible. But I doubt that the Chiefs would have any interest in DJ. They are still trying to figure out who to start Huard or Croyle.
UCSBDirtyBird
You have to think the Giants would make a play for him. I can't think of a better fit right now. And I doubt they would care about tossing away an escalating third rounder for a chance to repeat.
gjlaf
Save our time and money for the draft. Tony is good but they want way to much for him. just hope he doesn't end up with the aint's or carolina.
