Turner vs. the Bears.

Recommended Posts

After reading a few previews and watching the NFC playbook deal I 'm a little puzzled.

For the most part when people pick the Bears it's the result of the Bears run D and Turner's inability to run against 8 in the box.

My question is, is this coaching staff really going to try to run the ball alot between the tackles?

Seems only logical to take it outside and away from that defenses strength.

For Instance my first play from scimmage would have both Turner and Norwood in the backfield and would end up being a toss or somekind of outside run to Norwood.

If we want Turner to have success between the tackles I believe we will need Norwood to have success off the edge, hopefully loosening up their run defense some.

\While I do agree that Ryan is going to be an integral part of a Falcons win, I also think that our running game(not neccessarily Tuner) has to have a big day.

If we play it right I oculd see Norwood having a bigger day than Turner.

Just my 2 cents.

I really do think they're going to try to test the Bears run d. I don't think it's a good idea but it won't hurt to try. If we don't they will tee off on Ryan the entire game, gotta find a way to keep that defense honest.

But if I'm Murlarkey, I come out of the locker room dinking, dunking and slanting their ***** up and down the field.

That Bears defense is no joke.

I don't see Turner running over Briggs, or Urlacher on Sunday.

You wouldn't see Turner running over Stephen Hawking...

Sorry bucman, you and I are cool but you displayed your ignorance about Turner weeks ago........... ;)

You just keep doubting him and when he finishes the season with 1500 yards you and I will have a talk.

Norwood is slippery on the outside, perfect for keeping the DB's and outside linebackers lookin in the back field. that in turn should help open up Roddy White and Peelle. If we can do it right by the third quarter our play action pass will be a killer to their D.

Turner inside, Norwood outside, playaction to White and Peelle = Bears confusion and Falcon Points. ;)

Ok first off Turner as well as every other runing back in the nfl past present and future have their good and bad games. Fact of the matter is Turner has the ability to blow up on the best as well as the worst run defenses at any given time, hence The Burner has held the leading rushing title for 5 weeks straight and after this game i believe for 6 weeks straight. He has more 20+ yards than Adrian Peterson atm. I also like Norwood, but Turner was brought aboard to do what he does best, run the football and I would say after 5 weeks um he just might be doing his job!! Turner can run over urlacher and Briggs and he is the best ground rusher in the game right now.

GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!!!

Don't get me wrong Turner has been outstanding this year and he trully is the burner but there is no way he retains the rushing lead after this week.

Don't get me wrong again I hope he does but Peterson and the Vikings play the Lions, remember them? the team we put up 330 yards rushing against. I'd love to see it happen but Turner has wayyyyyyyyy tough sledding aginst Chi town than AP has against the putty tats.

Nice Analogy, but you forgot a few things. Like Coach Mike Smith has said all season that this Atlanta Falcons team is gonna play as "A physical" team. Also I must mention that your message reads of one of despair instead of hope. Our Falcons will be fine matching up against DA Bears. It's amazes me that so many seem to have this feeling that this bears team is the bears of old, they aren't. Yeah lovie smith is a defensive minded coach and has had great defenses, but we also have a great defensive minded coach of our own Mike Smith and he ain't chopped liver.

GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol,

I hadn't planned for it to come off as a message of despair.

I more so meant it to be one that pointed out that the majority of analysts out there have this game set up as Turner (our only apparent RB in their eyes.) against a stingy Bears defense. In my mind this team is much more than that hence my emphasis on Norwood.

Although the Bears don't have the "defense of old" they are still vastly superior to the ones found in Detroit, KC and GB.

However, In my mind this shouldn't be a cause for fear but should be a catalyst to get a guy who is very explosive (and possibly will match up better against the Bears) a more active role in our offense.

Like I said if we play this game right with the play calling I think Turner will still have a great day. But I also think it needs to be much more than Turner up the middle, Turner off LT Turner off RT etc. We can get away with that against some teams but I don't think it will do against the Bears.

Not despair, hope for Norwood and by association Turner.

And it amazes us that because last season injuries was the only reason we were different then the year before (Super Bowl). Guess what...... we are healthy again. But yet, everyone still looks at last year. Kinda similar to us looking at YOUR last year.

This is not last years Falcons team. We have a new coach, new QB, NFL leading rusher, leading sack man,

out scoring teams 48-14 in first quarter and most important a new nasty no quit mind set. U can have your healthy bears and I will take my new look falcons

Good luck Bear Down

Our last year something like fifty percent of out players were different. Not even remotely similar. One could even say opposite.
