Atlanta_Dawgs46
The coaching staff will sit Jamaal Anderson......If we sit him, we will just be handing him free money (millions). If we release him, the cap hit will likely hurt us. And if we cut him, we have to waste an early pick or spend more next year for FA. I don't want to waste an early pick on a DE. We need the pick for a Strong Safety (TAYLOR MAYS) or a center ( Alex Mack)
wordtobigbird
what are you talking about? why would they sit him?
WorryWart
what are you talking about? why would they sit him?I guess they could let him run laps on the sidelines. He sucks as a DE.
Atlanta_Dawgs46
Dang it... I need to clarify....this topic is about how many of the people are upset with JA? Some wants us to sit him and some want to cut him.
Prufrock
It seems like the party line on JA is that they're going to let him try to work through his issues with the pass rush. In truth, there really isn't much of an alternative at the position. I think they've been trying him at tackle in some sets with Davis at the end. I think your point about the finances of the situation is probably correct; they investment is large so JA will be given a lot of opportunities before he's given up on. Upark25
move him to DT
Striker42
Davis is easily better than Anderson but Anderson will get the playing time because of his contract and his draft status. It's not fair but it is what it is.
Bring It
And to think..................that pin head McKay could have selected Patrick Willis with the 1st round pick in 2007.
jatchisv2
You remember that CB that the Saints signed during the last pre-season? A guy named Jason FREAKING David? He was a RESTRICTED free agent for the Colts. They paid him stupid money to get him away from Indy. And he came in and SUCKED it up REAL bad.He hasn't seen the field even as a nickle back since the season started. He has ONLY played special teams.Sometimes you just have to cut your losses ..... formul8or
One thing I have learned from this coaching staff if they don't care how much you make, they will put the best player on the field (besides Ryan since they are developing him). You are already paying Anderson for a big lack of production and Bierrman sits on the sideline still making money. If you put Anderson on the sideline and Bierrman in the game then you are still paying both players their money yet possibly getting some production on the field.Moving him to DT or TE would probably be their likely resort before sitting him, but if Bierrman looks better then they won't be afraid to drop Jamaal on the depth chart. Atlanta_Dawgs46
I think we should move him in to DT. He is a decent run defender.
xapno
I've always thought JA should be an OL -- mainly because he's so good at preventing sacks from happening.
atljbo
move him to DTThey will....its just...they cant permanently do it right now plus they have to give the man a full season to see what he can do........ Remember....We wre rebuilding....... The coaching staff needs to evaluate this guys in their system.......During the offseason the coaching staff said that they believe Jamaal Anderson future position in the NFL is DT.......so they know...... Next year we will draft a real DE (Michael Johnson or George Selvie)and Jamaal will play UT (unless he just turn into a sack machine out of no where)
