Vicious
I know, I think I know but I don't. However, when your bread and butter is running the ball, then why in the heck do you start the game off throwing the ball repeatedly against one of the top pass d's with your rookie QB? Why on Earth do you throw the ball three consecutive times while you're inside the opponents 10? The play calling looked as erratic as Ryan did in the first half. I was kind of disappointed that Mularkey just abandoned the run.Having said that, way to go guys. That was great to see them fight back and not get into the dumps after falling behind. Watching Ryan not freak out after going 0 for 9 with two int's was great. It made me feel really good about the future of the team. The old Falcons would have given up and gotten routed. If the offense wouldn't have given them two balls at the 20 yard, I wonder how much closer the score would have been. Besides the long run by Graham, TB's offense was held in check by our D for the most part. Saw some very positive things from them today. Losses aren't good, but if there's a such thing as a good loss, that was it.
SaintsH8
yeah i agree the bad playcalling at the beginning of the game, and that put the falcons in a bad situation.
RobSalvador
I think they were pretty much forced to pass based on Tampa stacking the box. Its just Ryan settled down and started making plays eventually. After a horrible first, they fought back and were within 1 score late in the forth on the road. The bucs were scared to death in the fourth. Not having Baker really hurt protection, but he still stayed in the game.
Vicious
That had Ryan thrown off from the get go. Sure, try a trick play to start out. That's fine. But, when you are a running team, and you don't run that much, that brings the play calling into question. Now, Mularkey made up for it in the second half, but that team looked like they were playing blindfolded. I almost had a flashback of Joey ball. Vicious
Overall, though, I was excited to see this team not give up after hand wrapping two scores for TB. That should be a learning experience for Ryan and Mularkey.
