leo4prez
The Birds did fight at the end but I was not impressed with some of the players on the field today. Lets see if my list matches up with yours. I'm sure it won't.Lol!OffenseMM - Matt Ryan sneak on first down, huh? Starting the game in Tampa with three straight passes? He has to put the offense in a better position to succeed.O-line - They did okay in pass protection but the run blocking was horrible.Mike Jenkins - Made no playsRoddy White - A drop and a fumble from your best reciever can't happen. I thought he was passed being a liability on the field.Matt Ryan(First half) - He is not above having a bad game. He needs to be more poised at the start of the game to prevent getting the team in a hole. DefenseChris Houston - Has to be one of the worst tackling games by a CB I have have seen in awhile. The cover 2 had him in perfect position to make plays but he did not take advantage of it.Chevis Jackson - Got beat by Hilliard on third down to many times.Kieth Brooking - He just isn't making a difference on the field like he used to. He has noticably lost a step. He is a leader and the team needs him to step up like Milloy has.Jamal Anderson - Has to make that tackle on Graham. Nuff said!I think Houston and Jenkins should have lost there jobs today. Everyone else needs to prepare and play better against the Chiefs.Who did you think had a bad game? mindgame
look at the upsides, Roddy White didnt have any tantrums on the field and didnt get any 15 yard penaltys.they o-line was doing good in the first half but when sam baker left they started to do a little worse.jenkins wasnt really thrown to much.Matt ryans completion % is so low becuase he had to of thrown the ball away 7-10 times. And as the for defense, there were a few mis-comunications and should have never happened, and the tackling was pretty bad, seemed like they wanted to go for big hits and not wrap them up.Some plays that MM called were decent, but others really just left you scratching your head. My roommate and I were saying the same things you just recited. But let me add:Todd Weiner - He had two holding penalties and gave Matt no protection. The pressure was coming from him and McClure all game.Todd McClure - See above....I know you called out the entire O-line, but those two guys should shoulder the brunt of the criticism... leo4prez
Good point about McClure and Weiner. What makes it so bad is they are veterans and they are getting out played by the young players. I never liked Weiner as much as some have. The falcons need Clabo and Baker at OT to be the most successful.
mindgame
And also, if the WR's were getting open Matt Ryan wouldnt of needed to throw the ball away sooo many times.
cankles
Ryan was awful, but I'm not worried about that. I wasn't excited by his good games either, cuz he's a long-term project and you gotta keep that in mind.Yeah Weiner was horrible, I kinda gave up on the game when Baker came out. I didn't notice Brooking today but when I rewatched the Lions game I was amazed by how bad he was - tons of missed tackles, consistently unable to deal with blocks in the second level. leo4prez
What a game by Robinson though! That catch he made when he lost the ball and regained possesion was sick. Douglas needs to get the ball in his hands more. The guy is very quick.

FalconFanForLife
Well we can look at the bad, or look at the good. I was impressed with the way the team fought back from a horrible start and was still in the game until Graham broke that long one. This is a young team, and we will have more growing pains this year.Just hang in there. Rome wasn't built in one day, and this team won't be built in one offseason.Mike Smith did a GREAT job challenging the spot, and keeping the refs honest. BenB321
The offensive line was usually blocking 8 in the box when the Falcons tried to run the ball. You have to be able to throw the ball which we did some in the second half. I guess with Detroit it didn't matter how many they had in the box because they're horrible but Tampa has a quality defense and with them you have to take what is there. They made a decision that the Falcons would not run the ball no matter what. I think our coaches knew that and that's probably why Matty Ice came out throwing. Next time Ryan should be better prepared to win the game with his arm especially since that's how other teams are going to start playing us. cankles
I think what surprised me about Laurent was how good he was after the catch... showed some nice elusiveness with the ball.
