maxatlanta
Personell: I'll take Kitna over Griese. I'll take Calvin and Roy over Joey and whoever TB's number two is. Tampa might have a better line but not because their line is any good, only because Detroit's one of the worst in the league. I'll give tampa a slight edge at RB, but Graham is no world beater either. Tampa has a good pass catcher at tight end- the only significant upgrade vs Det.Coaching: Gruden is tricky, but often too much so for his own good. He is apt to abandon the run early. Sound familiar? Yes, kind of like the Lions- who by the way have a similar passing offense. I think we will hold Tampa to less yards than we gave up to Det. I think our D will also create more turnovers than we did against Det. If our O holds onto the ball, Tampa will have a tougher time generating points than most think. Their O is overrated. They played a bad New Orleans defense last week and couldn't dominate them.If our O can move the chains on the ground I think holding TB to 10 or less is very attainable. If Ryan falls victim to the TB defense, and turns the ball over, we will lose the game. If he can manage the game and protect the football our Defense will do the rest.
bossFALCON™
the only person on tampas o that scares me is graham. if he gets going, their offense gets going.
FalconFanForLife
Yeah same here: if they run against us we are in big trouble. But I am really more worried about their defense than their offense. Their defense is their game winner, and has been for years. With all that garbage heaped on Chucky as an offensive mastermind (stop me from laughing), that team lives or dies by their defense. faninmd
If there is any game for Anderson to step it up it's this game.
FalconFanSince1970
I didn't see Dunn's name on here. Looks like yall left him out. Just like most teams did when he played here. And he would dink and dunk them 3 yarders all day then bust a 70 yarder on you. If that happens there could be a lot of hurt feelings on this board. Of course Chuckie will try to get Brooking out in the flat with a RB and somebody like Dunn could break his ankles out there where he always over runs the corner. That could be ugly too.I think if we stop the run then press their WRs and TE when they try all that 3 step dink and dunk 4 yard BS, we can keep them off the field. bozoatl
I am more concerned about TB's defense, specifically their scheme. After watching film from last week, no doubt Monte Kiffin will have some looks designed to throw Ryan off. Remember that Matt has all of one game's experience, and as good as he looks now, and most likely will be in the future, he's still green. We could have trouble scoring. What I want to see tomorrow, and all year, is the half time adjustments made by the ATL coaches. They seemed to do very well at it during PS, and again last week. This is something that's been missing since Reeves. Seemed like there were no changes made for the second half. I am impressed with what we've seen so far, and I hope it keeps up. norbendon
I agree. I'm far more worried about their defense than their offense. I'm more worried about Matty getting his first career pick taken to the house than of Tampa running up and down the field on us.
bigatlfan2
There's 3 big differences between previous years and now:1. New offensive line.2. New offensive coaching.3. TurnerBig difference! We'll see how they do tomorrow.GO FALCONS!!!
ltstorm1
Tampa has no offense. The defense is stellar though. I wouldn't doubt if the score was something like 10-

That totally slipped my mind even though I have complained about it bitterly during the Knapp and Quitrino era's. In fact, this entire coaching staff appears to be heads above the last two in scheming so far. What a refreshing change to see our team actually coached by competent people again. We tend to forget that all the talent in the world won't necessarily win games if you don't have great coaching too.I think this coaching staff can match the X's and O's with the best of them.
