WTF are they doing? Maybe they'll try the option next.

this sht is like 'Falcons West'.

they're playing atl's greatest hits:

0 yard outs to TEs? check.

******** 6yd curls when its 3rd and 9? check.

screens and give up draws on 3rd and long even when the game is in contention? check. lmbao. they just did it again while i typed this very sentence on 3rd and long.

even on defense, me hall getting torched. deja vu.

lol. i just said as much. even folks on other boards recognize the craptastic reverse midas touch of the knapster.

worst oc. ever.

Yup, and not to turn this into a Vick thread, but I always believed that Vick's on the field problems started at the OC position. Off the field, is another story, but on the field Knapp had no idea how to play call and establish a game tempo. His play calls were junk. The running ability of # 7 and a gimmick O-line scheme allowed us to maintain one area of offensive respectability. If last year didn't expose him in Oakland, this year will certainly result in his ouster from Oakland.

i really felt bad for russell when i heard he was hired there. haven't watched them until tonight. and i weep for his future.

same dumb ish. but russel has nowhere near the ability to make something out of nothing. on the third down before the punk punt that denver marched down to make it 24-0, raiders were still technically in contention.

3rd down and there are twins left. curry runs kind of a short post / deep slant from the wideout position, while the slot receiver runs a 2yd out underneath of him. its a half field read. (if a slant is called, you aren't reading the entire field as the ball has to be out almost immediately).

curry was bumped on the route, he thought it was interference. but its immaterial. you are allowed to be bumped in the first 5 yds and if you get bumped at 6 the refs ain't calling that.

what purpose was the 2yd out? curry didn't run behind him (ie, he was lined up ON the l.o.s. and the inside receiver was off and broke later), so there was no pick action. so this amounts to 3rd and 7with a one practial receiver read. cover one guy and no 3rd down conversion. story of 3 yrs of the falcons life.

only thing they are missing is to run mcfadden up the middle.

sheesh.

Its so great that we can laugh about it now...Knapp, Hall....P U (holding nose)....Raiders can have 'em....Dhall is getting totally schooled! It's obvious that most Falcons fans can't stand the guy....There are at least 5 threads going on...poking fun of his pathetic play today.

its sad.

he came up under mora and it shows. athletically, he has it all. temperament wise, however? nope.

i think coming in under the 'athletic arrogance' regime stunted his development. he was coached to be a gambler, and not to be accountable. (i remember a game from his rookie year when he got burnt on a sluggo route and mora said, after the game, that it wasn't his fault becuase he told dhall that *any* time we blitzed he should jump the slant. i remember thinking that was incredibly stupid to say, even if it was true, b/c you just told the entire league to sluggo him on obvious blitzing downs.

lol. and he just got ate alive by a rookie on a double move. spun to the dayum ground.

i hope he eventually plays up to his potential. doesn't look good now.

there was at least 1 screen from the raiders and the broncos did not bring blitz but russell still threw a screen. it was 3rd and long too. i about fell off my couch laughing and started to think, KNAPP!!

The option was Knapp's only good idea in my opinion. Oakland tried it with McFadden and Fargas, but you just couldn't stop Vick and Dunn/Norwood with it.

Um, it worked for one game...and then we looked like absolute buffoons for the next 14 weeks trying to run it. God that was ********.

Knapp needs to work on his passing game. they need to just practice it, since most of the time its run run if its not short pass. he should mix it up with some play action in the middle, and not always on obvious passing downs. I think if they can improve the passing game more and not try to perfect the run, then they will be better. Most teams that pass a lot have better overall Offenes than teams who run a lot.

I always felt like he was one of, if not the worst game day OC. He just has no feel for the flow of the game. He would find something that worked and abandon it. Just clueless as to what play to call next. I think he must use the magic 8ball or something.
