Most Improved Position

The OL only allowed 1 sack and paved the way for 318 yards rushing. Turner did have 220, and that overshadows everybody else. But our backup RB also gained 93 yards on top of that along with his own TD (a pretty good day for a starter).

If you really want to see where the improvement lies, look at our short yardage plays. Our RB's are not getting hit in the backfield on short yardage anymore. We had 4 plays faced with 2 or less yards to convert. We converted every single last one of them. We were not stopped ONCE in short yardage! 2 2nd downs with 2 yards to go, 1 2nd down with 1 yard to go, and 1 3rd down with 1 yard to go.

Offensive line and there's no debate.

Without the improvements in the offensive line Turner doesn't get 220 yards, and Norwood doesn't get 93, and Matt Ryan doesn't have time to hit his targets.

Offensive line and it's not close.

Well said, but to be fair, it does say positioN and not positionS. But the underlined part above can't be stated enough. Dunn woulda had a helluva year last year if he'd had the same to work with.

The most improved thing for me was that Norwood got 14 carries

and he continued to average over 6 yds. per carry. He was getting

about 7 last year. The more carries he gets, the better chance we

have of winning. Turner obviously trumped anything Dunn would

have done yesterday even with our improved blocking. He was

breaking tackles and then running away from people. It just couldn't

have been better I don't think. We are a very dangerous team.

If we have to say one position, I'd agree it was LT. Turner rushed over the left side 10 times for 148 yards and both TD's! Yes, 14.8 yards per carry over the left side of the line. The other 12 carries went for 72 yards (still 6 ypc) up the middle and to the right.

For comparison's sake, last season Dunn rushed to the left side 75 times for 238 yards and 1 TD, over the course of the ENTIRE season.

ENOUGH SAID. When the LOS is consistantly re-established 2-3yrds on the defensive side of the ball, good things will happen.
