Looking down the line..

I was just looking ahead at our schedule and starting in week four, there is just a killer stretch of games..

@ Carolina

@ Green Bay

Chicago

@ Philadelphia

After today those teams are looking pretty darn good. (albeit we'll know more about green bay tomorrow.)

I think all these games are winnable, but that's a tough month coming up.

What do you guys think?

Carolina, if we can shut down the passing game, we will be okay I think. Not too concerned with Williams, even though he isn't bad, I just think our D against the run looks solid. Plus if we kept Det. down as much as we did with their WR core, I think we'll be in okay shape.

Green Bay is the same way I feel. I still have to see them though.

Chicago, we might struggle with offensively, but I think we can wear them down if we push it hard enough. Maybe get some passes in. Our D should have Kyle Orton on lockdown. If they play the way they did today.

Philedelphia is my biggest concern, they have a lot of weapons on both sides of the ball. Our D will need to speed it up against their offense. But honestly, if we stick to the run, we will have a chance, their cornerbacks are stacked

I'm sure if we play the way we did today against any of those teams, we'll have a chance to win.

Philly will be very high on power rankings.....But they played the number first pick today. I think, that the Rams are really awful....really.......

The panthers are dangerous, if Jake Delhomme is healthy.....That will the time tells....

Chicago played well today. But the Colts looked awful too. It will be a low scoring game against the Bears. And I think, that the falcons have the big play players on offensive.....Turner, Norwood and Roddy White.......

I do not think, that we have a chance against Green Bay.

I like Green Bay as team. I think, that they will suprise everybody tomorrow.....They will beat the Vikings.....I think so. ;)

But I am not always right.......

im in agreement with a lot of you. Philly will be the hardest opponent out of the bunch. even though they played the rams but Mcnabb was torturing them. we'll have to see. i think GB will be hard but again, need to wait til tmrw. i think we can beat carolina and the bears. our defense just needs to show up and hopefully have a good game running it.

A ball control offense that can put up 200 yds rushing a game will always be in it if the score stays close. With what we showed today, I think that means we will be in every game, unless a QB goes off on us for quick-strike TD's. As such, the Eagles scare me, with the other 3 possible wins.

We have won 5 out of the last 7 games in Carolina - we have their number in their stadium

Green Bay in Green Bay is tough regardless who is the QB

Chicago looked scary - but I'll be at the game

Philly looked good as well w/o a true #1 WR

If I was a betting man 2-2 during that stretch of games

WE DIDN'T MAKE THE SCHEDULE, AND WE'RE NOT CRYING ABOUT WHO'S ON IT. THEY

BETTER BRING THEIR "A" GAME WITH THEM CAUSE WE'LL BE BRINGING OURS. WE PLAY

ONE GAME AT A TIME AND TAMPA YOU'RE NEXT. WE'LL DEAL WITH THE REST WHEN THE

TIME COMES.

And? Last time we played Detroit we lost with Vick.Plus we have lost the last 2 home games against Carolina when Vick was the QB as well - in fact we gotta stop the home slide against Carolina this year 0-3 the last 2 years.

So why use stats talking about how we previously played against them when we have a whole new team and philosophy?

All I used was win/loss stats regardless of who was playing - it's just a fact - we won 5 out of 7 in Carolina - you were the one who brought Vick up - not me

And the fact is that most of those games were with Vick. 4 To be exact. So how can what we did with Vick on the team be any indication of how we will perform against a team now?

15-17 is what we did the last 2 years with Vick - and besides as I stated before - Detroit whooped up on a Vick team last time we played them - Detroit didn't look that good today - besides we had a 14-2 record and Super Bowl team and teams today and tomorrow will always be measured up against that team. Doesn't matter anyhow with Vick he is currently irrelevant these days. See I can roll eyes too

You still haven't answered the question. So how can what we did with Vick on the team be any indication of how we will perform against a team now?

I did - you just can't read between the lines. How can a 14-2 team of 1998 be compared to a team of 2008 - it can't - but it always will. Just as any team regardless of who was playing on it will be compared to the next.

Vick did play well and kept us competetive in alot of games but we still only had 2 winning seasons out of the 4 full seasons he played in. And besides he didn't win those games by himself - last time I checked he never played defense. Do you have a man-crush on him? ^_^

Don't worry about the statistics we had with Vick, or the statistics period. Now is what we should worry about and now we have to worry about Tampa. We are a new team now without Vick and a lot of other players we had before, so you can't really compare those 5 out of 7 wins with Carolina when we have a completely different team now.

Oh and that was to the people who were discussing Vick and the 5 wins out of 7 meeting.
