If we somehow get to 8-8 this year, I will be ecstatic

I think 7-9 would be incredible, but 8-8 would be fine with me.

I'm going to side with the coaches on this one.....I don't think we necessarily need to judge this season based upon W/L's. Instead, I want to see us be in every single game. Last season we had too many games where we just didn't stand a chance (mostly late in the season). By keeping games close, we'll sneak up on a few teams this year.

The defense still has some question marks (obviously the offense does, too), but our offense has the chance to be very good for a long, long time. Another draft that is hopefully focused on adding more depth to the OL would do wonders for us. Right now we're in a situation where we need to keep everyone on the OL healthy. The only spot that we "could" afford to lose would be RT, where we have two capable starters in Tyson Clabo and Todd Weiner. I want this team to get where one injury on our OL (or anywhere else) isn't necessarily the "end of the world." And we're beginning to see bits of this with our outstanding depth at RB and WR.

Personally, I'll be happy to have the other team's respect and still manage to be competitive (and win our fair share). I'll also be happy if we don't have random acts of ridiculosity that we're prone to witnessing (flipping off fans, on-field implosions by "impact" players, allowing a team with injured QBs and receivers to dominate us by running the ball when they have no other offensive options) that make me believe I'm watching a sit-com moreso than a football game.

Oh, and I'll be happy if Mortenson and Jeremy Green have to eat crow and give us props. It kills me that they dismiss us based upon last season's players and performance.

i agree. that will be a huge test for ryan.

it will also be a huge test for tampas run D. tampa had a good D last year, but it was mostly against the pass. they were ranked 17th against the run and gave up 107 yds a game. i believe we ran for 100 yds in the 2nd game against them last year with dunn and norwood, and redmans 0 qb rating.

i expect turner and norwood to churn out a big day.

Didn't NO get a ton of yards on the ground against them on saturday too?

just 101, but keep in mind they didnt have to play a healthy mcallister. as a matter of fact they didnt have to play a mcallister at all. their D uses smaller D lineman which makes it tougher for them to stop power backs. i believe they've struggled against duece and other big backs over the years, so we'll see how they hold up against turners pretty fresh legs and norwoods speed.

norwood had 9 carries for 73 yds the last time we played them.
