atljbo
I have a feeling that 6'7 260lbs DE Michael Johnson may slip to the 2nd round....... Michael Johnson does not look impressive at all...... I know he has the pass rushing skills but he has not put it together....... If juniors like Greg Hardy,George Selvie,Greg Middleton, and Auston English come out early......I can see Michael Johnson being a early 2nd round pick.......That would be a HUGE pick up for us
Scott24Falcons
Yeah, he never really showed up today, or atleast from what I saw (missed a little of the game). For somebody that has a chance to be a top-5 pick, he needs to impact each-and-every game. I'm not sure about him falling to the 2nd round, though. I figure with his ridiculous athleticism, some team will not let him fall that far. We'll see soon enough.

Teams go by production to......
Scott24Falcons
Teams go by production to......Of course they do. But you and me both know that "potential" still is a big part of draft "thinking." I'm with you though, give me production over potential. MJ will get his sacks and force fumbles. He'll probably have a couple of games where he'll rack up 2-3 sacks in a game. But if I'm spending a high draft pick on him, I want to see production like that every game. I like Selvie the most. VTCrunkler
yeah, MJ reminds me of calais campbell, another 6-7 DE that had great measurables, that didnt really translate to play on the field.

I think MJ needs a good D-Line Coach to teach him some moves.....The speed and quickness is there but the spin moves and hand technique is not... atljbo
dont know if hes going to get a lot of prep from a good d line coach in college..Im talking about a good D-Line coach in the NFL.......He has alot of potential.....its not just untap potential....Dude show signs that he can be dominant DE....... I feel like if he has a 5 sack year and we draft him in the 2nd round.....Ray Hamilton can get into that untap potential ....especially with MJ pass rushing on the other side of John Abraham........ But ......I know Michael Johnson will be a 1st round pick

Teams go by production to......Just wanted to let everyone know that Johnson didn't even play after the 1st quarter of that first game. He got some sort of cramp, and Coach Johnson pulled him out to be safe. They were playing Jaxonville State, so no biggie. He'll produce, it's just that he's getting double teamed a lot which is actually great for Tech because that leaves Vance Walker, Darryl Richard and Derrick Morgan left to clean up. Notice how all those guys have multiple sacks/TFL? Part of that is MJ being on the line.

Mr. Offseason
he seems like the athletic freak that super mario and gaines adams were, but without the same production.it takes a few years of being obsessed with the draft before you can start to get a gut feeling about guys (or at least an accurate one in my case) but if he doesnt start producing at a consistent clip i will not be interested in him this year. ive been wowed my potential and potential production before, but its clear to me that you need both, not just the possibility of production, to be a high draft pick that pans out. at least imo. Headshot
Does anyone else find it absurd that Michael Johnson is talked about as much as he is? Nobody in the world accept GT fans ever even heard of the guy until one draft "guru" put him in the top 5 and everyone else followed suit. He has never done anything to be worthy of the praise he gets, being big and having disproportionate arms does not make you a Top 5 pick, you actually have to be good.
