Bill Parcells............Atlanta Falcons..........................

Bring It

Recommended Posts

Just think.................if Parcells had not turned his back on Arthur Blank and the Falcons back in late Dec., 2007................then perhaps Tony Sparano would be leading the Falcons in Sunday's opener against Detroit, with starting QB Chad Pennington at the helm.

Interesting how things work out.

Interesting world we live in.

Further evidence that the karma of the Falcons is beginning to improve. Hiring Parcells would have been a big mistake.

I have not seen one thing done by the Miami Dolphins while Parcells has been there that could not have been accomplished by any other half-way competent general manager. The Dolphins would have probably improved this season from 1-15 if they had had made no changes from last season. Also, it is now obvious that Parcells had no real intention of coming to the Falcons. He was merely playing the Falcons to get a better deal with the Dolphins. Blank finally realized this and broke off discussion with Parcells.

Until they give me reason not to be, I am pleased with the Smith-Dimitroff team. I do believe the Falcons are – at last! – on the right road.

I have no doubt, that TD did more to improve this team, than Parcells did for Miami. Parcells ran off the best player(Jason Taylor) Miami has had in years.

Yeah this is why I love being a fan. The whole drama of watching your team and players year in and year out is an incredible story to follow.

I am on cloud nice myself because it is looking more and more like Arthur Blank may have finally hit a home run by hiring Thomas Dimitroff.

Of course we cannot be sure of that, but right now it looks like he has made some pretty good moves to turn this franchise around.

At the very least, he has us going in the right direction.

Parcells led the Cowboys to the Playoffs with Quincy Carter. I wouldn't discount the Tuna so quickly. He put together a **** of a team in Dallas.

Im be honest... i wanted the tuna. But that was because after patrino we hit a all time low. Now i wouldn't trade td or smith for tuna and this is the best FO we have had since blank fired reeves.

Normally preseason doesn't say much for any team. But preseason is a testament to TD and coach smith and blank in not giving up and trying to field a competitive team. For years we heard about the pats and their draft and fee agents. This is the first year i recall we have had a draft where so many young stars get a chance to start and become franchise players.

Usually rebuilding is depressing (im sure we will have our low moments this season as well) but the passion heart and fight the team showed this offseason is refreshing. Ill take growing pains over a team that quits in the 4th quarter like last season, anyday.

So good luck to the tuna and maimi... but the falcons are better without him.

Don't get me wrong, I am sold on TD and Smith, they anchor the best front office we have ever had, but if things had gone right with Parcells, we would likely have Sparano (no slouch) with as you said "with starting QB Chad Pennington at the helm." but also with Dorsey on our line....still not a bad scenario.........I still would not trade what we have for it, but I don't think we exactly averted a tragedy.

You guys are crazy to think that Parcells wouldn't turn this franchise around. His resume is 10000000% better than Dimitroff's. He's turned around MANY clubs into champions. Idiotcy runs rampant on this board but this is *BEYOND* the norm..

He turned many clubs around as a coach...not a GM. Lets see what he can do as a GM first.

I'll take our current situation over Miami's any day of the week and twice on sundays. Thank god he declined the offer.

I think he chose Miami for the location, not because of their situation. At the time, both situations were pretty dyer, and they were coming off a 1-15 season. So I'm sure he chose Miami for the beach. Can't really blame him. If I was getting paid multi-millions per year, I'd prefer to live in Miami too.

if bill had came to atl. then the media may have better things to say about the team and the majority of the fans would be dancing in the streets on that alone :lol::lol::lol:

He has everywhere he's coached. He also has told every team he has coached to shove it at some time or another.Thank the Lord for the way things turned out!!! :D

what if he didnt have a good year... would he jump ship to maimi next year or the year after that? Great coach yes, but the verdict is still out on great gm. We could say if bill stayed for 5 years he could probably change the franchise but he couldn't stay for 5 days before jumping ship.

Dancing in the street would turn to riot in the street when he did a patrino mid season to maimi.
