The Keys of the game

Offense

Run the ball down their Throats….. The Lion has some fast blitzing LB but their DT Darby and Redding is very flawed at the run game….. They can penetrate on passing plays but are weak-ish against the run……. The Lions Linebacking Group plays fast and hard but they are flawed against a good running/play action passing team…..The Lions Linebackers are very aggressive so we will have to use their aggression to our advantage….. The Lions DBs are very beat able….. Leigh Bodden has not bought into the tampa 2 scheme yet(he is struggling) and Brian Kelly is very beat able(will check Roddy White)……

Analysis

The run game will be the key to our whole Offense this game…… If we can establish a consistent run attack on the Lions…. Our Offense should have no problem

Defense

Pass Rush….Pass Rush….Pass Rushhhhhhhhhh……. We will be able to stop the Lions running game and also none of the Lions RBs have game changing speed….. The Lions Passing Attack will be a HUGE Problem if we can not get a pass rush with our front 4……. Im not to worried about the deep passes because we will have safeties back there but I’m more worried about Kitna doing quick hitchs and slants….. If the lions force the Falcons to blitz the Linebacks……Mike Furrey and Shaun McDonald will eat us alive in the middle……

Analysis

If our front 4 can put together a good pass rush….. I see no reason why we will not have a good chance at winning this game….They will try to use their WR size advantage on its….. When Kitna is pressure, He makes very stupid decisions…. Every one pays attention to the 4,068 passing yards and 18 TDs Kitna had last year…… But Kitna also had 20 ints and was sacked 51 times…..Jon Kitna has been the most sacked QB the last 2 years(61 sacks in 06 and 51 in 07)…… The Lions O-Line still sucks and Gosder Cherilus (Matt Ryans BC LT) looks terrible as the Lions RT(I appreciate Matt Ryan even more)…..

Final Comment

Its Simple……. A good pass rush + good running game = WIN…….. Im looking for ABE to have a Huge game……

My Prediction after watching the falcons 1st stringers against baltimore 2nd is, we are going to man handle the falcons. I expect Barry to have a field day teeing off on Matt Ryan. Our defense has impressed all through out pre-season and I expect it to continue on next sunday. The offense will have no problem having its way with the Falcons d. I expect calvin to have 2 td's and roy one along with Kevin Smith a rushing td and Jerome Felton one as well.

final score Lions win 33-6.

Its not that. Its because we're playing the falcons... I expect atlanta to be no better then 4-12. There D is awful even with the 2 good line backers. There Db's are terrible our receivers will eat them up. There D-Line only has player that's worth mentioning the others on the d-line are un-tested and un-settled

Call it an overraction but if we lose to the Falcons we might as well pack it in for the season.

I mean i see the Falcons as a bottom 3 team.

All in all, it turns out to be a boring game to watch. Ryan throws 3 interceptions and Kitna throws one. CJ has 75 yards receiving and one TD. Little to talk about afterward besides the need for run-block progression.

Lions will beat the Falcons handily in Matt Ryan's first start.

I just don't see how Atlanta is gonna keep it competitive with a rookie at both QB and LT.

I mean DeWayne White should have alot of fun taking on Sam Baker.

Offensively i can't see ATL's CBs being able to deal with both Roy and CJ.

It could be close i guess but i can't fanthom the Lions losing this one.

It's nice to see that it's not just Detroit fans who can be blind to the fact that their team sucks. We've all played the game of "look for any little glimmer of hope" the past few years, and it seems like most of us are finally past that point. It's Atlanta's turn.

The Falcons are probably the worst team in the NFL this year. I'll be the first to tell you the Lions aren't great, but they are certainly quite a bit better than Atlanta is. The thing that makes me pretty much positive we'll win this game is that the Falcons have a rookie QB starting the game. I don't care what team you put us up against, if they start a rookie, the odds are stacked heavily against them winning.

I hate to break it to you, Atlanta fans, but this post is homerism-free. I'm brutally honest in my analysis of the Lions, and to be brutally honest... they're quite a bit better than your team is.

I cant wait till Sunday....When the Falcons beat the Lions.....I will go to their forum and throw it in their faces

With the way that Baker manhandled Vanden Bosch, I'm not too worried about the lions DE on that side. I honestly don't think they have anyone half of VB's quality.
