Classic Saban at the presser following the Clemson Game

Cal, Bama, and South Carolina were all on top of the world about halfway through the 2007 season. Teams like Tennessee were left for dead. The former three teams ended up going 6-6 in the regular season.

It's a long year. Saban has the right outlook.

On a side note: Alabama has some amazing young talent.

what he isn't happy that the bama fans are saying bama is back and it's national championship time after 1 game.. I can see that.. good thing for him bama is on the front of SI.. yeah no pressure there.. lol

He is working overtime to keep expectations down. Some of his lines in that presser were great, especially at the end.

The good news is we should get somewhat of a break to get composed over the next two weeks before we travel to Arkansas. Of course, Va Tech, Texas A&M, and Mississippi State probably thought they were getting a break to start the season too.

True...the win against Clemson means little if Alabama folds in November again. I still see this an 8-4 to 9-3 type season, which is what I predicted from the start -- hard to go through Tennessee, Georgia, and LSU on the road and Auburn at home (not to mention a Mississippi State team who has won two in a row against us, a Kentucky team who looked great against Louisville, and an improved Mississippi team under Houston Nutt).

I think your expectations are spot on. If Alabama can find a QB for 2009, I would expect big things.
