Fanboy3000
I'm not really surprised. First off, having rankings this early is stupid anyway. But, USC was by far the most impressive team this weekend, followed by Oklahoma, Florida, Ohio State then Georgia.
AF89
Grr I'm a sore loser so I'll be rooting against the Pac 10 when ever their teams go out of conference all year (unless them winning benifits Georgia or by some 1 out of a million chance of G southern)

UGA was up 38 to 0 in the middle of the 3rd quarter and unloaded the bench and shut it down and now they drop because of it..
DefenseWinzCliche
Good. I hope we drop in the AP too. I'd rather the team have had the extra motivation.
AF89
The dawgs are't really built for flashing the point differential like USC, Oklahoma, Florida or last years Hawaii. They(the dawgs) get ahead of ya early and then like a Gator roll (pardon the metaphor :P ) thier defense drags you under the water thrashes around till you wear down and drown. Not as pretty but can be just as effective particularlly if those "flashy" teams can't score on us.
Statick
When asked about dropping in the polls, Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford said: “I don’t care. We’re 1 and 0. That’s a good thing.”Good attitude and I agree with Matt. Just keep winning and everything should fall into place.

This is really stupid considering at the end of 3 quarters SC had 38 points just like we did but we called the Dawgs off...(pun intended).

Right, "if they wanted too" but thats not how play Imagine if they stayed out there and we lost more than Jeff Owens. Jump out early then let the depth at Defense take over as our offense smashes the ball down the opponets throat with runz and short passes to dominate the line of scimmage and use up time.Although I think GSU might have had longer time of possesion. :P We (we as in the dawgs not the eagles) need to improve that

AF89
My mistake. I thought you were saying we weren't capable. One of the dudes I was playing pool with and got to talkin too saturday night, was a trainer on the team (GSU) as well as was having played corner against Green a time or two in South Carolina during High School. He said A.J is a freak (as if we didn't know) and if they had wanted to he could have burnt the secondary all day.

Gritzblitz 2.0
In the final analysis, it really isn't of any consequence. UGA still has to prove themselves on the field. This just underscores how ridiculous the entire system really is. Basically, a team just lost it's ranking because they weren't willing to run up the score on a team that they clearly overmatched. We had a lot of walkons who played in the 4th quarter. Which is fine, but if you want style points that's not the way to do it.

I didn't watch the whole thing, but from what I watched, I didn't see all the dumb penalties that Georgia had. Doubtful that Georgia will still be doing that later in the season, but as of right now USC looks the best.
Vicious
How in the heck do you win by a pretty big margin and drop a spot. That is pretty freakin ridiculous. Just more fuel for the fire, though, I guess.
AF89
Just thought of a word for it....Georgia is brutally conservativeHard hitting ,cold and effecient. The old chicago bears of college football. People get too caught up in points.

I saw both games and UGA looked just as together as USC did. they had the same # of penalty yards in the games. We had 11 penalties and they had 7, not much difference between either team. The reason why uga dropped is due to style points because they both looked to be complete teams.

Remarkable
Unfortunately this isn't really a surprise. These rankings are a joke. Georgia could have dropped 60 on GSU if they wanted. Who is going to be #1 at the end of the year if both Georgia and USC is undefeated? Is they want to be consistent then it should definitely be Georgia. At least this should piss off the players whether they so so are not. As long as we stay top 2 I'm happy.I don't remember USC losing their spot last year when everyone knew they weren't the #1 team in the country.
