thamill
I was listening to him a little while ago. He had Peter King on. Peter King said when TD met with Ryan before the draft, TD and coach Smith said, you really didn't have anyone around you at BC. It's amazing what you did because there isn't really anyone else on that team that has a shot in the NFL. Ryan responded by saying, I went to battle with those guys, and continued to defend his teammates when it would have been easy to throw them under the bus. According to King, Smith and TD were blown away. The more I hear and the more I see, the more I like this kid.

Spy
This came out around a few days after the draft took place, or sometime near then. Truely shows how much character he has and wouldn't throw his team under the bus. He is a perfect fit for the future of this franchise. g-dawg
yes, Peter King wrote three articles chronicling Matt Ryan to Atlanta and all were very complimentary of Matt Ryan, Thomas Dimitroff and the Falcons in general........I love reading Peter King - good sportswriter and good interview when on the sports-talk shows. Magic Man
Ryan is a leader, and I don't think you'll see him throwing the O-Line, the Coaching Staff or management under the bus like some other QB's who played here a while back did when he hits those points where he doesn't produce. Spy
Talk is cheap... we should have grabbed Dorsey and Brohm.I'm joking. Settle down.Which reminds me, I remember before I joined so many people here wanted Brohm. Which is funny because he dropped down the Depth chart in Green Bay and is now behind Matt Flynn. That just cracks me up.

I really wanted to draft Dorsey and Brohm because I didn't see the big difference between the 2 QB's. I've got to be honest again... there is a reason I'm posting on a MB and not in a war room drafting guys.
Return-of-the-Falcon
its true, i just heard it on ESPN, everyones favoriote QB Brian Brohm couldnt beat out Matt Flynn for the back up job.....Crazy huh?We could be looking at starting the season with a Injured Dorsey, and a QB trio of Redman/Harrington/Brohm right now....Scary if some of the armchair GM's got their way .....lol
capATL
Well, if we aqre going to bring up Brohm, lets not forget Woodson. He had a lot of support here going into the draft. Since then he has been cut by the Giants [?].
TheDirtyWordII
The amzing thing on Brohm, and the nature of the NFL for that matter is this.Let's day Brohm had been a first round draft choice. What we would have heard from the franchise that selected him high was that he was going to sit and learn for a year and their plan would be to have him compete in 2009. But now that he is a late second rounder, you see he definitively gets beat out by Matt Flynn and that he's struggled mightily to pick up the pro game. I guess that's the class system that exists in the NFL for the youngin's.
FalconFanForLife
ROFL - yes THANK GOODNESS none of us gets to pick the players. Even the "pros" don't always get it right. So far Matt Ryan looks like he has the total package you look for in a QB, and TD looks like he is the GM who can build a team around him.We may have just hit the pot of gold, but its a long long rainbow till you get to see it. I am gonna strap in for one very fun ride myself. :P
