michaelgee
It is true and official, congrats to Joey!http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3563879Cut by Falcons, Harrington agrees to deal with RavensThe Baltimore Ravens agreed to terms with quarterback Joey Harrington, who was released Friday by the Atlanta Falcons. Due to the current uncertainty with their quarterbacks, the Ravens brought in Harrington, Chris Simms (released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and Todd Bouman (released by the Jaguars) for workouts Monday and decided to sign Harrington because he has the most recent playing experience. Troy Smith and Kyle Boller have been sidelined this preseason due to injury and illness. Smith, scheduled to start the third preseason game, has a viral infection and was hospitalized from Thursday to Sunday. Smith has also lost a considerable amount of weight. Boller is battling an injury to his throwing shoulder and still hasn't been cleared to practice or play. The Ravens also have rookie Joe Flacco and Casey Bramlet on the roster. oregonsfan
ESPN.comCut by Falcons, Harrington agrees to deal with RavensBy Chris MortensenESPN.com(Archive)Updated: September 1, 2008, 4:22 PM ETThe Baltimore Ravens agreed to terms with quarterback Joey Harrington, who was released Friday by the Atlanta Falcons. Boller is battling an injury to his throwing shoulder and still hasn't been cleared to practice or play. The Ravens also have rookie Joe Flacco and Casey Bramlet on the roster. What I find most interesting about this is they didn't wait to sign him. By signing now, his salary for this year is guaranteed. The other thing I'm wondering is this: I wonder if some members of the current Falcons staff put in a "good word" for him with the Ravens. I know the Ravens had Simms in yesterday/today and, while I'm sure the Ravens made the best decision for their team, I don't think they had Harrington work out for them. Falcons Ace
Good for Joey, but Troy Smith is the starter in Baltimore for 2008...I seriously think you have a hard-one for black strong armed mobile QBs with poor accuracy and mechanics. Guest genn0226
Wonder if Joey left his bags behind in Baltimore after last week's game?
falconsd56
And just think, that would probabl;y be Shockley had we cut him, instead Shock will be riding the pines.nah they would have went with Simms most likely in that case I think.I actually would not mind Simms here as a back up. He earned my respect for continuing on with a broken spleen.. and playing fairly well
stumpjumper
Well, judging by preseason I'd say he's a qb upgrade for them.
oregonsfan
Good for Joey, but Troy Smith is the starter in Baltimore for 2008...You are probably right...just as soon as he gets out of the hospital and healthy again.
Bring It
As I said on another thread, Joey is excellent at a "workout".It's when the real bullets start flying that he crumbles. In every way.

consistentfalcon
And just think, that would probabl;y be Shockley had we cut him, instead Shock will be riding the pines.i doubt dj gets signed by any other team if released by the foulcons. imo the only reason hes on the roster is a marketing ploy
Cirrohsis of the Eye
I'd start Flacco and get him some experience. He didn't look too bad against us. Troy Smith doesn't have too much upside at all.

Trouble
i doubt dj gets signed by any other team if released by the foulcons. imo the only reason hes on the roster is a marketing ploySo true... Its a shame they sold out a place on the roster to just sell a handful of extra jerseys. When the falcons needed him most he was hurt and before that he was a practice squad player who was only drafted to sell jerseys. Thats ok we will draft some new merchandise mover next season to replace him with and he will finally be gone. He will never play 1 down in the NFL during a reg season for any team.
