michaelgee
I look for us to sneak up on several teams and beat some others outright.I am happy that we are picked to be a door mat. It works in our favor and Coach Smith will use this as a huge motivational tool.GO FALCONS

Bring It
I commented 2 months ago that we're so far under the radar that................................there IS no radar !!!
_XL_
Not to even mention that we are in the NFC which gets no respect in the league. and in the South division which gets no respect in the conference, and we play Detroit, Oakland, and KC this season which aren't getting respect. So, that gives us 9 games that should we win shouldn't even throw up a red flag for the rest of the league. Conversely, should we somehow have a spectacular season we will only hear about how we're in a weak division, of a weak conference, and we haven't beaten anybody. I can't wait to sneak up and smack some teams in the mouth. Should be fun. My intent is to go into this season without expectations so I can come out of this season smiling either way. We are headed in the right direction and it feels great! GO FALCONS!

odentonfalcon
That's okay, I would rather be under the radar than have a big target on my back. I believe this is the best position for us to be in.

consistentfalcon
Much like yourself in the role of village idiot.the foulcons are in the lower tier of nfl team. and have been for practically all the 42 years in the league. the record speaks for itself
Commish
i see us pulling an 07 Browns. Quietly adding stars to our teams and surprising everyone, then just missing out on the playoffs.
Atlguy39
I'd rather be under the radar too, but hey, we're the Falcons. We're ALWAYS under the radar and prove we should be year in and year out. That said, I'm always optimistic, but older and wiser now. Trying to keep expectations in check this year. 6 wins would be a success, but I don't even see that. Do you know our defense is ranked last accoriding to the "experts"? Only one way to go I guess. But hey, stranger things have happened. Here are the positives: Running game, special teams, decent depth at QBNegatives: Offensive line (as usual), passing game, linebackers, DBs
falcontent
The so called experts could at least do a little homework before being considerd "experts." I have seen and read alot of analyst speak about the Falcons based on the way the season went last year. Find me another team that could endure the season this team had and still have a winning season. I don't know about all of you but I feel like last year will provide motivation fot the #ss kickings we are getting ready to dish out this year!!! I told him and my father that The Falcons will surprise teams this year and I dont want to hear when we do beat teams like The Chargers and Saints- They then says what kind of drugs am I on etc. I told them The Falcons Drug!!! Lets prove all the sorry Nfl so called analyst and Falcon Haters whos boss!!!!!

stripedss
We aren't projected to be good for a reason. This is not a good team. This team will not sneak up on anyone. It is not good enough.

REV.2000
Even submarines have radar so how low are we flying?TILL ABOUT WEEK 8. THATS WHEN THE NEWS MEDIA WILL BE GIVING US A DIFFERENT SPIN.WE'LL PROBABLY REACH WEEK 8 AROUND 4-4, MAYBE 5-3. THEY'LL ALL SEE US COMING ATTHIS JUNCTURE. GAMES WILL BECOME HARDER TO WIN. IF OUR INJURIES ARE MINIMAL AT THISPOINT, WATCH OUT. 8-8 IS A REAL POSSIBILITY. LET THE BALL BOUNCE IN OUR FAVOR AND WECOULD SEE ONE OR TWO MORE WINS. THE DROP SIDE IS, IF WE DO HAVE INJURIES IN VERY KEYPOSITIONS AT WEEK 8 ........ ALL BETS ARE OFF. WE MAY SLIDE THE OTHER WAY. -_-

We are headed in the right direction and it feels great! GO FALCONS!This is key, I mean if you have the expectations of winning the South and making the playoffs right up front it's going to be a tough year. But I think that we have the potential to have some success albeit minor..
joker32
To think that S.I. say's we will only win 2 games is a joke.We should be able to do that by accident. :P

FalconFanFrom-Kansas
Based on what I've seen so far, I see us sneaking up, and being a Wild Card contender!!As we entered the pre-season, this is where I had us. I enjoy the thought of being under the radar. As a young team with a new coach I think it takes the pressure off of us. Some could say, but that's where we were this time last year. But the infrastructure is so different this year. We've got a solid group of NFL coaches this year (IMO), not a group of college coaches over their heads & out of position. We're not whirling out of the MV spin, as a team, players, or fans. Those that are left from last year have a sober understanding of life in the NFL that I wouldn't wish on anyone.Being under the radar will allow us to focus on the fundamentals we will need to cover each week. Both the coaches & young players will need time to grow & adjust to their positions.I see this as a Blue Collar kinda team. In previous years there may have been some flash-&-dash about us. I see this group as a no-frills group of guys who are just gonna do their thing & pop you in the mouth. I think we're getting it from our new head coach down, thru his assistants, & to our imerging on the field leaders.
ltstorm1
After listening to what some NFL live guys thought about our chances of winning more than "4" games. We are most definately flying under the radar, might as well say we're 20,000 leagues under the sea

In fact, I can't tell if most of you are serious. I love the Falcons but there is no way we will even come close to making the playoffs get real. If we have 6 wins I would be the happiest man alive. durrdbyrd
ESPN's Michael Smith actually picked us to go 7-9 saying that "the Falcons are going to sneak up on some people this season." That's still not great and we were still picked to be last, but hey, at least we're getting an ounce of respect after the preseason.
