DJ-75
AJC forgot two other things to look for:6. How Project Ryan reacts to a five sack game and constant pressure?7. Will he get snippy with the media if there is a long losing streak?Five things to watch at quarterback positionThe Atlanta Journal-ConstitutionSunday, August 31, 2008Five other things to watch at the quarterback position this season:1. The Falcons want to run the football. The more success they have moving the ball on the ground, the less pressure there will be on rookie Matt Ryan.2. It will be interesting to see if the Falcons have a quick hook with Ryan. If the team is struggling, they may be tempted to make a switch.3. Falcon quarterbacks spread the ball around during the preseason, but one receiver will need to step forward. Ryan will benefit from a go-to receiver.4. There are throws that Ryan missed in the preseason, failing several times to hit wide open receivers on end-zone fade routes. Touchdowns, not field goals, will go along way in the quarterback’s progression.5. Ryan got a so-so greeting when introduced at the Falcons’ final home preseason game. Part of the team’s success this year could be determined by how fast he wins fan support and moves the team from the Michael Vick era. ol'_dirty2
Only if DJ is the #2 QB and Ryan absolutely sucks. He's gonna be alright though, as long as the line hold up and the running game keeps D's honest.

gruffmusic
Redman will be lost without Petrino...I love it when people say Redman was merely a product of Petrino's system.Petrino was Redman's OC for a single year in college. Redman had 2 other OCs during his tenure at Louisville. Despite the fact of playing through 3 different systems in college, Chris still holds just about evey single QB record at UofL as well as the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm award.Petrino was long gone last year when Redman started the majority of his games. I'm happy for DJ, but Chris will be a great #2.

atlfan89
omg. ryan would never get pulled mid season no matter how bad he played. mabey he would if the coach was on the hotseat but he is not. this is why dj should have been cut because of stupid fans like you. this djmania is so ridiculous its not even funny now. ryan is our qb so support him. WorryWart
DJ couldn't run a bath, let alone an NFL offence. He's the scrub 3rd string QB. Get over it...And he is listed on our roster as 3rd string QB because the 3rd string QB is irrelevant and we needed to dump Joey's salary. DJ was the only one left. I was thinking we'd go after one of the players released but it appears we may sell 5-10 extra tickets just so these guys can watch DJ sit on the bench. Not a bad idea I guess. I loved DJ in college but it's obvious that DJ is not NFL material. I don't know why we aren't going after a seasoned vet to help Ryan along or a younger player with real potential. I don't know that we aren't, but if not we're wasting a roster spot for a few ticket sales. I've said before that I trust Smith and Dimitroff. Sometimes I feel like Blank is a little pushy and he may have pushed for DJ to remain on the roster. You don't wanna alienate a certain fan base and this may be a bandaid for those fans. I'm using the word fan loosely and I know there are die hard fans from all angles. It's apparent to me that certain "fans" are more interested in certain situations than what's best in the team's interest.Hopefully our 3rd string QB, no matter who it is, never steps on the field in a meaningful situation. This is pretty much a non issue. I just hope we are doing what's right.

QBs are judged by if they get their team to the play-offs quickly. Vince Young, Michael Vick, and Donovan McNabb are better than Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.2. TJ Duckett is an All-Pro caliber RB. He was destined to many Probowls when he left.3. Dunn was part of a conspiracy with the FO to keep him on the field and "steal" money from the team.4. Vick was the victim of a large conspriacy to lock him up and it's still questionable that he had ever had ANYTHING to do with dogfighting at all. 5. Authur Blank is angry at Vick and blindly blames Shockley because he may be a black strong armed mobile QB kind of like Vick.
