falconsfan1987
So far the Falcons draft has benn pretty impressive. I know we are not into the regular season yet but look at the talent.Matt Ryan, Starting at QB and is looking pretty impressive.Sam"arms too short" Baker, When no one else wanted to pull the trigger, TD thought he would be a great tackle. He is in my opinion the best OT to come out of the draft.Curtis Lofton, All I can say is this guy is a beast, He has made some incredible plays this pre-season. Starting at middle line backer as a rookie. He has impressed me so far.Chevis Jackson, He has made some good plays this pre-season also. I know the int was thrown right to him. He did catch it and return it for 22 yards.Harry Douglas, He is a small, talented, and fast Wide reciever. He will do good because most of the attention will be on White.Thomas Brown, I know he is injured and was battling it out with Snelling. He looked impressive to me in pre-season. He had some good runs while in on offense and he had some good runs while on kick returns.Kroy Bierman, The biggest surprise of all to me. This guy came out of no where. He has the heart and will to be a pro-bowl caliber DE. He is a bit undersized. He has been in on alot of plays so far. I loved when he stripped the ball and recovered the fumble. Another play I loved was when he had the QB wrapped up with a sack and didn't think it was good enough and went for the strip also. He has been a major surprise for me. TD is going to make a big difference on this team. If we can have more drafts like we had this year in the near future, this team will be stacked with talent. As an Atlanta Falcons Fan I am really excited to see the steps that this organization is taking. I believe we have a bright future and I can't wait to see where TD and Coach Smith take this team.Go Falcons!!!!!!!!!

Xfactor
Wil most likely be one of the better draft classes in our history.Agree and I'm already stoked about next years draft with TD and Smith having a full season with the team to evaluate our needs. falconidae
Kansas City had a great draft too- 10 out of 12 on their roster, plus 1 on IR.

Xfactor
and you guys bitched about matt ryan and sam baker...HANot me and I was in the minority about having to go back to the first round to grab Baker since the OL were flying off the board. Imagine our coaches knowing a little something about the players it's mind boggling

BenB321
When we failed to pickup a DT and had to trade a pick for Baker I wasn't too happy but TD has make me a believer. The thing is the Falcons desperately needed a good draft because the cupboard was pretty bare after McKay proved he could not get it done. TD had no room for error and he got it done big time. Having effectively addressed so many holes, QB, ML, safety, OL, cornerback puts us in a great position next year to draft either best player regardless of position or having the ability to to trade down. The future looks bright with TD at the helm.
UCSBDirtyBird
lofton probably wont start.I would beg to differ. I really can't see them using your match up based approach to the depth chart. Lofton is better than Taylor in all things but coverage. I would imagine Taylor will see a good amount of snaps, but I doubt he will start. I am no coach though, I could be wrong. Jigga Donkey
well considering the regular season has yet to start and nobody knows how a draft pick will end up, nobody has had a better draft than anyone else. just because you have horrid talent and have to infuse rookies doesn't mean they'll be good players. wait until the live bullets fly, it's going to be a trainwreck in ATL

While the Lions are more apt to pass, it is not goingn to be a 70/30 split. Also, that Kevin Smith kid is looking like a beast. I know that we are going to run the Tampa 2 sometimes, but that is not an every down coverage scheme. Smith is an old school guy: stop the run, make them beat you with the pass. You tell me who would be better in that role?

Lofton and taylor arent that far apart. Lofton is the better run stuff, while taylor is the better coverage guy, and on a team that ha roy williams and calvin johnson im more afraid of the pass than the run. i think our Dline can handle the run, but the passing game can be a killer. RobSalvador
We picked the wrong mlb if we knew we were running Tampa 2.

GEORGIAfan
We picked the wrong mlb if we knew we were running Tampa 2.i think its only until the Cbs get better, but this 1st game you got pretty much noobs running a new system against roy williams and calvin johnson, who are both tall, strong, and fast, which is a killer combo for a wideout. g-dawg
I think it was a great draft too and I am kind of giddy about it......Having said that, I think we are a little premature to firmly say how "great" it will be - we have not even played one regular season game yet.
TeamPlayer1
2008 was an awesome draft! What gets me stoked is this is TD's FIRST draft! Look how many holes on a 4-12 team he plugged in one draft. Two years or less, the Falcons will be one of the top 4 teams in the NFL. Don't laugh, I'm serious!
