DL worse. A healthy Coleman is a beast.

LB better overall, I dont know about Lofton and Demo head to head. Have to see Lofton during the season

CB same if not better. based on the preseason that is, but you never know.

FS a little better.

OT BETTER. Gandy got beat constantly off the ball and guys just ran past him. he was too old.

OG Better. Thats why he won the job.

TE worse

RB BETTER. Dunn goes into the same mold as Gandy. the age just got to him it seemed sometimes.

QB better. we all know Harrington was going to do anything

'08 without ONE ounce of doubt.

You forgot the most important comparison / change......................COACHING STAFF.

To compare Smitty and staff to last year's "Coach from ****"...............is like comparing the thoroughbred race horse Big Brown to a 27 yr. old mule used for plowing a turnip patch.

DL: Coleman wasn't really that healthy last year though, and doesn't seem to be this year either as last I heard he hadn't signed anywhere

LB: I need to see Lofton in a reg. season game before I make the call.

CB: I need to see Grimes in reg season.

FS: Coleman is a massive upgrade over Crocker imo

OT: Gandy was a turnstyle who needed to go.

OG: I like Dahl, hopefully he continues to play well.

RB: Dunn was too small for what they tried to use him as.

QB: Ryan played very well in the preseason, hopefully he continues to do so.

DL - Im not sure. Untill proven otherwise I would say its a worse.

LB - Uncertain, but I love the attitude of Lofton. Better.

CB - Grimes is glue on his WR assignment. Better.

FS - Better, hands down.

OL - Better, by a mile.

OL - Better, allthough Forney is one of my favourite players. Had his head/heart in the right place.

TE - Recieving = worse, Run blocking = Better.

RB - Better, Turner is the future and Dunn's inability to run, was exploited once teams didnt have to gameplan for Vick to run as well.

QB - Better, hands down.

I like loften but i really liked demo

hall is probably better because of experience but grimes should only get better and in time will probably be a better corner.

I liked coleman to but he wasnt getting any younger

Dunn was great for pr and saving face but his tank was running low. Turner is way better, even snelling is.

Ryan is the future and is only gonna get better. Joey was a backup. Ryan is the new face of the franchise.

DEFENSE

DL 08 Babs 07 R Coleman ---> Worse. Also keep in mind that Grady is a year older now.

LB 08 Loftin 07 Demo Williams -----> Well, this move allowed Brooking to return to his preferred spot so I think as a whole, the LB corps wiill be bether this year. Regardless of whether it's Lofton or Taylor in the middle.

CB 08 B Grimes 07 D Hall -----> I haven't seen Grimes play yet but DeAngelo is a proven pro-bowler. This spot is worse until Grimes proves otherwise. But I'm probably more worried about Houston starting. What has he looked like in preseason?

FS 08 E Coleman 07 Chris Crocker ---> His last season is somewhat alarming, but if he can regain his confidence and stay healthy Coleman could be an upgrade. Obviously the Falcons believe he'll fit into this system better than Crock would have. They signed Coleman to a four year contract.

OFFENSE

OL 08 S Baker 07 W Gandy ---> Younger and eventually better. It's a very tough position for a rookie though so I expect something of a roller-coaster season for Baker.

OL 08 H Dahl 07 K Forney ---> The fact that Forney was cut tells you all you need to know. Dahl won the job outright and Forney reportedly didn't show much interest in chasing him down.

TE 08 Hartsock 07 Grumpler ---> Worse.

RB 08 Turner 07 Dunn ---> We'll have to wait and see. I like the move, but Turner will be just as helpless as Dunn if the o-line can't create holes for him.

QB 08 Ryan 07 Harrington ---> Younger and eventually better. It's a very tough position for a rookie though so I expect something of a roller-coaster season for Ryan.

QB 08 Ryan 07 Harrington

1) A healthy and able Rod Coleman is better than Babs

2) Lofton being here is better than having D'Mo here, but they play dif pos. Having Lofton allows Brook to go back to Will, so rotation's better

3) I would have more confidence in Hall, but since Grimes has yet to play meaningful snaps, who's better remains to be seen

4) Coleman's attitude, play and communication with Milloy and other DBs is tons better than Betty Crocker

5) Baker is better and more mobile than Grandpa Gandy

6) Dahl is nastier, hungrier, cheaper and a better fit for the offense we're trying to install than Forney

7) At their current stage in careers, Turner is a much better option than Dunn (no disrespect intended)

8) Ryan is better than Joey; that's why he's starting and Joey's looking for employment (best of luck!)

turner is bigger, faster, and stronger. he can make plays out of nothing by breaking tackles which dunn could not which is why if there was only a 3 yard push, we were only getting 3 yards. where as with norwood and turner if theres a window they can take it for 5 or 15.

The only ones that are questionable are DT, CB, and TE. Gotta give some love to my boy Crump, but even as good as he was, injuries were startin to keep him down, and he dropped a few TD passes last year if I remember correctly. Coleman was great 2 or 3 years ago, but not as good now. DHall, well we all know he had a mouth and thought he was the best, but it didn't always translate on the field. That said, I think

DT = Push

CB = Push

TE = Worse

Everything else is better.

Thank you, finally someone agreed with me about Coleman.

Why is it that people think Grimes has never played any meaningful snaps. No wonder the national media thinks we're a 1-15 team. They don't really pay close attention to our team and its apparent a lot of others don't either. Grimes is not a rookie he played well in a game last year.

It's hard to be sold on a guy who came out of nowhere and who hasn't really played a whole season, no matter how much promise he has shown in preseason. I hope it continues into the regular season, as do most of the people here, but it'd be nice to have some more experience to lean on in such an important position. That's all.

I find myself nearly positive that you gave the same comparison to Petrino over Mora at this time last season.

I can understand that, and I hope he can transfer it from preseason to regular season, but I also think that many fans have forgotten about his play last year. So i'm more optimistic that he'll be able to do it since he did do it in a game against really good receivers.
