Falcons should post 60 second intro

Recommended Posts

Anyone who has been to the Dome this preseason knows what I mean.

60 seconds before kickoff, the Falcons have a new intro video and song. The Falcons thankfully put the "Let's Get It Started" to rest. The new video done to "Ladies and Gentlemen" absolutely gives me goosebumps every time I see it. (Ok, all four times.) I think it will help the Falcon fans third quarter hum drum.

But I think that the Falcons are missing a golden opportunity to use it as a marketing tool. It would make a great intro to site for a week or two.

I say we have Triple H run out of the tunnel and pedigree the other teams QB instead.

That would be awesome.

Seriously though, for the young ones here, wrestling was born here in the southeast and I think the fans here could really connect with the reference. I used to watch the NWA every Saturday night with Gordon Solie, Dusty Rhodes, Austin Idol etc....

I used to get free wresting tickets to the Omni and even saw some NWA at center stage theatre back in the day. Those were the days. The Midnite Express w/ Jim Cornette will always be among my favorites and I will never get out of my head "the bull of the woods, son of a plummer" Dusty Rhodes quotes.

My grandfather was the chief of police in Columbus, GA in the early 80's. I had ringside seats every Wed. and Sat. I got to go to the locker rooms and meet all the greats - Andre the Giant, Ric Flair, Wahoo McDaniel, Tommy Rich, Tony Atlas, The Anderson Brothers,. The Freebirds, Mr. Wrestling 1 and 2, Ivan Koloff, The Superstar, Ernie "The Cat" Ladd, Toru Tanaka, Kabuki, etc.....

I agree. The new intro is great.. better than last season. It'd be cool if they posted it to the front page or had it in the Media Lounge section. Someone make that happen!

I hate that "get it started" song... (can't say I like the wrestling songs listed above any better.) <_<

Thats awesome. You never want to get into an "Indian strap match" w/ Wahoo McDaniel. There is a restaurant here in Atlanta called Abdullah the Butcher's house of ribs and Chinese food. Its has some cool wrestling stuff in there. He is there sometimes.

Them and the Fabulous Freebirds had some battles!

Man do I hate RATM. Politics are bad. We get it.

Anyways, we can all suggest music, but we all know it has to be 1. Exciting, and 2. Very commercially accepted (recognizable). I personally used to love the "Hells Bells" intro. Personally, I think "The Pretender" by Foo Fighters or even "All My Life" would be great. Popular band, big songs, both rock.

I grew up in Columbus and as a kid, my girlfriend's dad was Fred Ward, the Promoter at the Arena. I too got to meet wrestling greats even older than the ones you mentioned. Gorgeous George, The Phantom, Don McIntyre, Tarzan White , Lenny Montana ( The guy who had the knife stuck through his hand in The Godfather) , Kurt and Karl Von Braun. ETC. I thought that stuff was real back then. I never could figure out why when I did the famous "Abdominal Stretch" on my brother, it didn't hurt.

AHH "The Claw ", I had forgotten about that. "Oh no......it's THE CLAW......it's all over now " As an adult, I saw Buddy Colt in a club and asked him if his famous 'Sleeper " hold was real. He put me to sleep right there in the club. I remember Gordon Solie and The Baron and Doctor Graham. Who was the Japanese guy who used to Karate chop everybody ?
