How sad it looks in the Dome

I hope the Falcons have a good season where we can get some bandwagon fans to come to the dome. I have had season tickets for three years and this year the Dome has looked very sad as far as the amount of people there. They are able to hide it better with the red and black seats rather than those puke green seats and pink walls...I know alot of people doesn't come to preseason games but come opening day against the Lions I hope the atmosphere is alot more pleasant with fans where we can get the dome rockin...The first game I went to back three years ago at the end of the Vick era it was a home opener against the Bucs and the game experience was electric with fans and support....Hope to see it back that way

I didn't think it was that bad for the preseason, the crowd that was there was actually into the game which is tough considering it's the preseason. I'd rather see a 80-90% full dome over a sold out crowd that's walking the halls to be seen.

:lol: Yeah, I noticed that trend the last few years. Some people seemed more interested in hanging out in the hallways like some kind of party instead of watching the game. I have also noticed the people in the Dome actually know how to behave in public a little better. I don't mean in a night at the symphony kind of way I mean no one is drunk and beligerent and forgetful that they are out in public and not at a house party.

The crowd looks like this every preseason but I think the Ryan hype will at least peak peoples interest on opening day and always wins will bring the people.

Either way I don't mind the leg room and short lines but it would be nice when I am screaming when the Falcons are on defense that people would stop looking at me and make some noise too which comes with the increase in attendance.

The GA Dome has turned from a night club environment back into a football environment.   The crowds are MUCH better as you've said.. there are far fewer morons in the crowd.  I have yet to see a person escorted from the GA Dome, whereas this time 2 years ago and even last year I had already witnessed at least 4.

Yea the shorter lines at the bathroom and concession is nice...I do second that...and the concession people still struggle..they need some help in there..lol

Well, ya get what you ask for.

I went Friday - bought an expensive seat from the Falcons vice a scalper. I wanted to suppor them, but bad, dumb move.

Bought a "Fork and Knife Hot Dog - 7 bucks - your kidding me right? Dog was hot, but ---- Had to walk two sections of food court to get mustard and ketchup. And the onion dispnser was a "use your hands to get onions" --- That and the 4 dollar coke - what a rip off.

I was happy they cut off beer at halftime - the 2 Texans next to me, pulling for the old Oilers, got drunk and COULD NOT SHUT UP. They left because of no more beer. AMF.

Next - notice the drum band - pretty lame, and they sat in the lower level, behind the end zone - can't imagine Green Bay puts hacks with drums in good seats.

The game - Glad we have Ryan vs Vince Young - that guy really stunk up the house. Ryan was great on the 3 step drop. You can see that's our game plan this year - he's very accurate, they are safer passes, it will keep the defenses off the 8-9 man fronts, and with the run game, burns clock. I am not looking for a tion of scoring, but just win baby!

Usually I tailgate or eat at Ted's to avoid the over priced food that is ok at best. Also you have to realize the people in the concession stands are usually volunteers raising money through tips for whatever their function is but yeah the first home game was a joke. It took 30 minutes with only 3 people in front of me. Half of the stands were closed so I am thinking opening day will be a lot better.

Usually in that section where the band was is where they let different youth groups sit up towards the top of the endzone.

As long as they are playing football and the drunk idiots don't ruin it I am happy.

You're not going to see many people willing to shell out a lot of money for a game that is more or less worthless. The only way I'm paying the amount of money it takes for a decent ticket is if that game counts for something. People will show up. The buzz around the rookies this year alone will bring them in. And we finally have some bona fide stars to put on the field and generate interest.

i remember going to a preseason game in 05 (the year after we went to the NFCCG) and it looked about the same as the dome did on TV for these 2 preseason games. i also went to the home opener last year against carolina and it was pretty packed, even though we were 0-2 and didnt have vick. i think people just dont care about preseason. almost everyones stadiums have looked pretty empty this preseason.

I don't care what people say but you are correct. The DOME has no energy what so ever and it has nothing to do with it being pre-season. The people that are at the game have no energy because it's no excitement. I've been a season ticket holder for 10 years and this is the worst pre-season I've seen. You can tell it from the tailgate parking lots, you can tell it by the number of people getting off the train, you can tell it when you don't have to wait in line to use the restrooms. You can even tell it by how long you have to wait to get inside the DOME.

It's amazing how we sit here and say it will change and we are selling 3 game packages that sounds like the BRAVES ticket package. Just face it we are not a marketable team, NBC is showing the Redskins game this coming Thursday, **** they were just on TV Prime time last week. Friday we couldn't even get the WAVE to go more than 5 sections and who in the **** though having a drumline will be good, what happen to having a full marching band...

It's going to be a long and boring season...

Are you aware that our Falcons have sold more season tickets this year than anytime in their history? Furthermore, according to McKay (he was up in the booth last Friday) the Falcons WILL sell out all of their games this year. These were McKay's words, not mine.

I find this hard to believe. There was a waiting list for Season Tickets prior to YKW getting busted.

McKay is just being optimistic. Selling 3 game packages does not indicate selling out of season tickets. In fact, on the AF website, you can still purchase season tickets for this year.
